first time I experienced that God "turned silent" on me I thought I should go crazy... as it went on for days, weeks and months I became more and more broken down, felt more and more frustrated, left alone and had an emptiness inside that can't even be described- it was terrible... I needed so bad that God would speak to me, if only just a few words... if it was a loving word of comfort, a correction or a "get a grip on yourself" wouldn't made a difference- it would still have felt like heaven on earth- because He would at least have said something... It's a strange place to be, because everything around you looks like normal, life has to continue as normal- but at the same time, nothing is as normal. We do experience it different, but I think we all find us self to be lost without God... WHY do God turn silent on us some times? I don't have a good answer on that, because I've never heard any talk about it.
