On 1/15 at 1455 hrs TFR units responded to a car crash at Hillsborough Ave and 19th Street. On scene rescuers found that a car had been struck on the right side by a large SUV. The passenger in the right front seat of the car was trapped in the wreck and she was seriously injured. It took rescuers about 20 minutes to cut the woman free and transport her by fire rescue paramedic unit to St. Josephs Hospital. Two children in the rear seat of the car, girls ages 7 and 8 were reportedly the daughters of the seriously injured female passenger and all occupants of the car were reportedly unrestrained. The 8 year old had minor injuries and was transported to St Josephs Hospital by ambulance; the 7 year old was reportedly not injured. The driver of the car was not injured. In the SUV the driver, a 19 year old female and her passenger, a 26 year old male were treated and transported to St Josephs with minor injuries. Preliminary investigation reveals the yet to be identified adult male driving the gray Saturn sedan was east bound on Hillsborough Avenue. He turned north on 19th Street right into the path of the red Ford Expedition that was westbound. The impact between the SUV and car sent the car sliding about 40 feet down the road.. + Informações
