Sometimes the release of a superb new single sees the light of day thanks to a surprising course of events. The same happened with "The Theme". In April Cosmic Gate contributed a mix for Armin's ASOT 500 Compilation. It was a mix full of classics from the late nineties up to the year 2000. One of these classics caught their full attention and so they made a re-edit of it for their DJ sets. Within the last months this re-edit became one of the biggest tunes in Cosmic Gate's sets and more and more fans and DJ colleagues started requesting it.
