Here I present my take on the old chestnut "Atheism is responsible for the worst crimes of the 20th Century". I argue against the two most common ways of assigning blame that I've seen used by theists and atheists and then present the way I judge ideologies. I then argue that while it is obvious atheism can have little to do with atrocities, militant and extreme anti-theism and anti-clericalism have formed part of the motivation for evil and unjust acts, acts which I wholly condemn. I conclude by explaining how I square these acts with my own anti-theist and anti-clerical stance and pose a question to some theists.. + Informações
