Clay Crosse grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He became a born-again believer at the age of 13. He married his high-school sweetheart, Renee. Initially, Clay worked as a courier for FedEx for six years. Clay released his first album, My Place Is With You, in 1995. I Surrender All was the most successful single from the album. With the success of his musical career, Clay quit his job. + Informações

This song was the second single off Clay's debut album. After "I Surrender All" went number 1, Clay was invited to sing on NBC's Late night with Conan O'Brien. It was on this show where he introduced this song "My Place is With You" as the new single to millions of viewers worldwide. We were dating when Elizabeth did this song. On this day I was in Oklahoma at a conference and she was working at a summer camp (where we worked together) and was doing special music for the service. She and my sister worked on the translation/interpretation of it together, but Elizabeth did the last part on her own. As we watched it (after we were married) Elizabeth explained that she was confessing in front of people that she was wanting to get married - giving up this secret desire of hers to God (surrendering it).
