Welcome to possibly the strangest toy i've ever reviewed. This is the Chanvisor Mini from Chokou Senshi Changerion! When I say this toy is strange, it is on many levels. For starters, the design is bizarre. This series came out smack in the middle of the 90s...in the days of Henshin Braces and handheld Henshin Items, Sega gave us this Ultra Eye on steroids. You have to admit though...as odd as it is, it doesn't look half bad in terms of design. Sure it might be fairly small and not quite show accurate...but it's still a pretty cool idea and nice that they actually made a toy of it. The other oddity comes from the manufacturer...Sega. In my review of Segata Sanshiro last month, I mentioned that we'd be hearing from Sega again. Well, here it is! This is the other Sega toy. Why was this toy made by Sega? Sega happened to co-produce the series with Toei. Interesting, eh? So even though there is no game to support the series, Sega invested into the production of an actual show. Overall...I like this toy. It's fun and it really doesn't need to be perfect to be cool. It's a thousand times cooler than the Solar Morpher from Power Rangers Jungle Fury.Check out my Myspace Blog! Welcome to my review for the DX Tokkei Techou from Tokkei Winspector! A little history behind this review... Initially I set out to review this toy in early 2008 as you can see from the Rescue Hero Series trailer I put together: www.youtube.com Infact, I did review it. The review wasn't very good, so I ended up scrapping it. In 2009 I took fresh pictures, which are the ones you see here in this review. It's not my best work, but it gets the job done. I intended to shoot new video scenes (the batteries are pretty weak in the toy) but it gets the job done. So with 2010 being the 20th anniversary of Winspector...I give you my review from the series. The DX Tokkei Techou (DX????) Is an electronic badge used by Fire in the series. It comes with three overlay cards, which use the slots to dictate what the light show will be (timer, etc.). Pretty neat! It's a step up from the Jiban Police Denshi Techou from the year prior, and much better than the Solindicator from Solbrain, the following series. I do prefer the memory game in the Jiban badge, however. I do feel that this toy is a little bit lacking in quality, especially next to Jiban's Denshi Police Techou. Winspector was never imported to America. However, the series did gain some significant following in countries such as Germany, France, and (ofcourse) Brazil.
