The band initially formed as the Classics (1964) in Vancouver, British Columbia, but later changed the name to The Collectors (1966). Their psychedelic self-titled debut album yielded the minor hit "Lydia Purple". A second album was based on the musical score written by the band for a stage play by Canadian playwright George Ryga, Grass and Wild Strawberries. Chilliwack effectively began with the departure of vocalist Howie Vickers from the Collectors in 1969; however, the band didn't change its name until 1970, to Chilliwack, a Salish term meaning "going back up" and the name of a city east of Vancouver in the Fraser River valley. With lead guitarist Bill Henderson now providing most of the vocals and doing most of the composing, the band released several records that were moderately successful in Canada. Hit singles in Canada included "Lonesome Mary", "Crazy Talk" "The drunk Giraffe" and "Fly at Night". The album track "Rain-o", a blues-based composition that appeared in different versions on the Chilliwack debut album and the later "Dreams, Dreams, Dreams", was a well-known concert favourite. In 1978, Brian MacLeod (guitar, drums, keyboards) and Ab Bryant (bass) joined the band. Chilliwack enjoyed its greatest success with this new lineup. The singles "My Girl (Gone, Gone, Gone)" (1981), "I Believe" (1982), and "Whatcha Gonna Do (When I'm Gone)" (1982) were popular both in Canada and in the US Rolling Stone Magazine wrote: "At their best, Chilliwack was the finest .... + Informações

I've been experimenting with HD video workflow and this is my first attempt. I ended up using free software from start to finish, with two exceptions: Quicktime Pro (which kept crashing and is not part of my final workflow) and Adobe Bridge CS3 (which could easily be replaced by any number of free programs or simple scripts) On December 21, 2011 I drove to Nelson to visit family over the holidays. I strapped a GoPro HD Hero to the dash of my truck, set to take one photo per second. I left the camera out of it's waterproof case which allowed me to leave it plugged in for the whole trip. I wound up with approximately 17600 images totaling some 28 gigabytes. The HD Hero captures still photos as 2592 x 1944 pixel JPGs. My first step was to crop each photo to 2560 x 1440 and then reduce it to 1280 x 720. This was easily done with XnView's batch processing mode. Next I went through the photos and deleted sequences where I had stopped for gas or snacks. I probably trimmed about 600 photos from four places. I tried to keep the result as seamless as possible. Now, the camera saves photos in a folder named "GOPRO100" but once there are 999 photos it creates another folder named "GOPRO101" and so on for each additional 999. In my case the photos were spread throughout 17 folders. I couldn't just dump them all into one place yet because the files only have a 4-digit number which had rolled over causing duplicate names. There is amazing scenery and often deer and other wildlife can be observed. It starts at the corner of Promontory Rd & Teskey Way, up Promontory to Thornton Rd, up Thornton, turning left on Old Extrom Rd., back down to Promontory and to Teskey Way.
