I added half a tea spoon of sodium hydroxide to a little water, then added the tin foil. The reaction creates a lot of heat, and gives off flamable hydrogen gas. If you look closely, you can see a flame when I light the gas. The reaction in this video, is the same reaction you would see in a 'works bomb'. the purpose of this experiment was to determine the durability of Trunano Metal Armour in a highly akali environment. i used 5 different levels of concentration of caustic soda. 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50% strength solutions were used. in every case, the aluminium was completely dissolved in the alkali but at the bottom of each tub, the nano coating was found in tact. this shows that the Trunano Metal armour does not get affected by high levels of acid. As each piece was only half coated, the alkali ate through the untreated metal and then began to work its way UNDER the coating. If all pieces were coated all over, i believe the Metal Armour would withstand the alkali and the metal would be protected underneath. the experiment was carried out over a period of a week or when the chemical reactions ceased.. + Informações
