One Too Many Mornings - Johnny Cash & Waylon Jennings 2.58 min. | 4.9888124 avaliação | 437755 exibições From the 1986 album Heroes by Johnny Cash & Waylon Jennings. Down the street the dogs are barkin' And the day is a-gettin' dark. As the night comes in a-fallin', The dogs 'll lose their bark. An' the silent night will shatter From the sounds inside my mind, For I'm one too many mornings And a thousand miles behind. From the crossroads of my doorstep, My eyes they start to fade, As I turn my head back to the room Where my love and I have laid. An' I gaze back to the street, The sidewalk and the sign, And I'm one too many mornings An' a thousand miles behind. It's a restless hungry feeling That don't mean no one no good, When ev'rything I'm a-sayin' You can say it just as good. You're right from your side, I'm right from mine. We're both just one too many mornings An' a thousand miles behind.. + Informações |

Highwayman - Johnny Cash~Willie Nelson~Waylon Jennings~Kris Kristoffersen 3.05 min. | 4.967969 avaliação | 1234597 exibições The Highwaymen were a country supergroup comprising four musicians well known for, among other things, their involvement and pioneering influence on the outlaw country subgenre: Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. Lyrics: I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride With sword and pistol by my side Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five But I am still alive. I was a sailor. I was born upon the tide And with the sea I did abide. I sailed a schooner round the Horn to Mexico I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed But I am living still. I was a dam builder across the river deep and wide Where steel and water did collide A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound But I am still around..I'll always be around..and around and around and around and around I fly a starship across the Universe divide And when I reach the other side I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can Perhaps I may become a highwayman again Or I may simply be a single drop of rain But I will remain And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again... + Informações |

Waylon Jennings - Brown Eyed Handsome Man (The Johnny Cash Show) 1.80 min. | 4.9344263 avaliação | 43901 exibições PLEASE NOTE: I divided my uploads between multiple channels, Bookmark this link in your browser for instant access to an index with links to all of John1948's oldies classics. LINK: tinyurl.com Waylon Jennings was born in the hardscrabble West Texas town of Littlefield on June 15, 1937. He learned to play guitar and snagged a disc jockey job at a Littlefield station while still a boy. In 1958 he moved to Lubbock, where he worked as a DJ and met rising star Buddy Holly, with whom he toured and played electric bass during 1958 and 1959. It was Jennings who gave up his seat to the Big Bopper (JP Richardson) on the doomed 1959 plane flight that took the lives of Holly, Richardson, and singer Ritchie Valens. The disaster stunned Jennings and it took him several years to regain his momentum. But his time with Holly had been pivotal: "Mainly what I learned from Buddy," Jennings recalled, "was an attitude. He loved music, and he taught me that it shouldn't have any barriers to it." After working West Texas radio again, Jennings began performing at a bar called JD's in Phoenix, Ariz. There he began to craft a sound that combined his aggressive Telecaster electric guitar style, his rough-edged vocals, and an eclectic repertoire that often borrowed from rockabilly, rock and folk. And it was there that Nashville-based Bobby Bare, then a country hitmaker for RCA Records, heard Jennings and immediately called RCA producer Chet Atkins. Although Jennings had already recorded some country .... + Informações |

The Ballad of the Forty Dollars - Johnny Cash & Waylon Jennings 3.00 min. | 4.9514823 avaliação | 152232 exibições The man who preached the funeral Said it really was a simple way to die ... He laid down to rest one afternoon And never opened up his eyes ... They hired me and Fred and Joe To dig the grave and carry up some chairs ... It took us seven hours And I guess we must have drunk a case of beer. ... I guess I ought to go and watch them put 'im down But I don't own a suit And anyway when they start talkin' about The fire in Hell, well, I get spooked So, I'll just sit here in my truck And act like I don't know 'im when they pass Anyway, when they're all through I've got to go to work and mow the grass. Well, here they come and who's that Ridin' in that big ol' shiny limousine Mmh! look at all that chrome, I do believe That that's the sharpest thing I've seen That must belong to his great uncle Someone said he owned a big ol' farm When they get parked I'll mosey down and look it over, that won't do no harm. Well, that must be the widow in the car And would you take a look at that That sure is a pretty dress You know some women do look good in black Well, he's not even in the ground And they say that his truck is up for sale They say she took it pretty hard But you can't tell too much behind the veil. Well, listen ain't that pretty When the bugler plays the Military "TAPS" I think that when you's in the war They always hide 'n play a song like that Well, here I am and there they go And I guess you'd just call it my bad luck I hope he rests in peace, the trouble is The fellow owes .... + Informações |

BUSTED - WAYLON JENNINGS & JOHNNY CASH 3.65 min.
