Cogan's recording was released by EMI on the His Master's Voice label as catalog number B 10717 and reached number 11 on the UK chart. The flip side was "Canoodlin' Rag". A remake by Joni James hit the US Top 40 in 1960. Singer Joni James revived the song in 1960, a top 40 record. Another version of the song was done by country singer Margo Smith in 1978. It's the first known murder in South Florida during an eviction in the current housing market collapse. Miami-Dade police Lt. Rosanna Cordero-Stutz said officers from their department were accompanied by the building's maintenance man when they went to serve an eviction notice to a man living at 465 Ocean Drive in Miami Beach.
