A orquestra Típica e Rancho (OTR) da secção de Fado da Associação Académica de Coimbra (SF/AAC) é um grupo composto por estudantes universitários que pretende representar e defender o folclore da região de Coimbra. Este grupo, que nasceu em Maio de 1981, elaborou na região uma recolha cuidada dos trajes típicos da época. Nos idos anos 70, década de grande actividade artística da cantora Tonicha e em que foram gravados muitos dos álbuns que contêm algumas das suas canções mais marcantes, e que ainda hoje povoam o imaginário popular português, Tonicha gravou o LP "CANTIGAS DUMA TERRA À BEIRA MAR" para a editora Polydor (Phonogram). Foi no ano de 1977 que foi apresentado ao público em conferência de imprensa o LP "CANTIGAS DUMA TERRA À BEIRA MAR". Deste LP foram editados dois singles, que já aqui apresentámos: "Tu és o Zé que fumas", que manteve a capa do álbum e incluiu os temas "Tu és o Zé que fumas" e "Cana Verde", eo single "Pestotira", que incluiu "Pestotira" e "Vira da desgarrada". O repertório é do Cancioneiro Popular Português, o que é bem visível no título dado ao álbum numa clara alusão às cantigas do "nosso país", o nosso Portugal "à beira mar plantado". Todos os títulos são populares com arranjo de J. Libório, pseudónimo de João Maria Viegas, marido de Tonicha, com que assinou muitos dos trabalhos da cantora.
