(hed) PE - Hed Planet Earth. Live @ The Metro, Syndey, Australia 6/17/01. This was on the world-wide "Just Say No" world tour, which was a lot of their first headlining performances in places like Australia, plus gigs like Rock Am Ring in Germany and some radio festivals in the states. This track, "The Meadow" is from Hed's break-through record "Broke" and features the original Hed PE line-up (the new line-up is only MCUD and the DJ). I know this isn't really up to par, quality wise, with some of my other work, however I didn't film these angles, just mixed them, and with there being very little footage of this band in there early '00s prime, I figured why not give this show a go. The show ends, and it shifts into the first verse. The first verse is a continuation of "Out Of My Mind" and talks about Neil personally, his own idea of the show business. Then it shifts into a demented version of "Take me out to the ball game" I think that's kind of saying America's losing whatever purity it had. The old innocent pastime of baseball is being corrupted. Much like the rest of America, and the second verse talks about the lies fed to the American youth. "18 years of 'American Dream'". But it's really a scam. His mother had told him a trip was a fall, so don't try any of this new stuff everyone's taken. and don't even MENTION babies. It also makes a Vietnam war reference, another scam fed to the youth. Then some military drums play, I think this goes along with third verse and I'll tell you why. The third verse seems to me to be about the Kennedy assassination. Just think about the third verse and you'll see it. The military drums seem to be something that they'd play at a funeral. And the chorus is what puts it together, It's a signal saying we can't take it anymore. A broken arrow is an Indian signal of giving up. They are done from all the war the 60's have brought them. The Twins opening video that plays before every home game at Target Field. All of the 3D graphics including all of the different boards (Ribbon Boards, Bullpen, Scoreboard, and Out of Town Boards) were done by Pixel Farm. A team of 4 people did a large majority of videos. The Opening video is broken into multiple sections. A nostalgic intro that was done by Tony. A recent highlight section, the lineup, pitcher stats, and a matted frame for live video before the pitcher takes the mound. I did all of the 3D and compositing from the end of the nostalgic section on. It was done in Maya and composited in Nuke. The nuke composites for each shot include geometry and camera information imported from Maya to allow any of the highlight clips to be quickly swapped out. After the end of the opening video the Twins logo locks for over 4 minutes playing a looping bed of music. On cue the control room switches the video to a different video track playing Gardenhire and the rest of the lineup. The entire 40 man roster is rendered in case of injury or other circumstances. I was also asked by scoreboard operations to make a large empty panel for the starting pitchers stats. Afterwards a matted frame is revealed allowing them to show live game footage or a montage reel of the previous games/series. King Crimson is a rock band founded in Dorset, England in 1969. Although often categorised as a foundational progressive rock group, the band has incorporated diverse influences and instrumentation during its history (including jazz and folk music, classical and experimental music, psychedelic rock, hard rock and heavy metal, new wave, gamelan, electronica and drum and bass). Indigenous is an American blues-rock group that came to prominence in the late 1990s. The band originally consisted of two brothers, Mato Nanji (Maiari) ('mah-TOE non-GEE' vocals and guitar, born 1974), Pte ('peh-TAY' bass guitar), along with their sister, Wanbdi ('wan-ba-DEE' drums, vocals), and their cousin, Horse (percussion). The group released their debut album, Things We Do on Pachyderm Records in 1998. In 1999, Indigenous won three Native American Music Awards for their debut record, including two top honors: Album of the Year and Group of the Year. A video for the lead single and title track was directed by Chris Eyre. The track "Now That You're Gone" peaked at #22 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart, making Indigenous one of the first Native American bands to break into that realm. Amazon.com named the band Blues Artist of the Year, and soon after they were featured on broadcast shows such as NPR's "All Things Considered", "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "CBS Saturday Morning," and "Austin City Limits". Cutting Crew is a pop rock band formed in England in 1985, best known for their #1 hit, "(I Just) Died in Your Arms". Vocalist Nick Van Eede founded the group along with Canadian guitarist Kevin Scott MacMichael in 1985, and the two made demos that led to a recording contract, before bassist Colin Farley and drummer Martin Beadle joined in 1986. Their first album, Broadcast, released in 1986, provided the first US hit for Richard Branson's Virgin Records. Virgin flew the band to New York for initial recordings of the album, then to Australia to shoot videos.[1] The unknown band shot to #1 in the US, Canada and Norway with their debut single, "(I Just) Died in Your Arms". The group, formed in New Haven, Connecticut, consisted of leader Fred Parris, Lou Peebles, Stanley Dortch, Ed Martin and Jim Freeman in 1954. With little success, the group reorganized, with Dortch and Peebles leaving, and new member Al Denby entering. Dungeon's 16 year long history began in August 1989, in the outback town of Broken Hill, the home of Mad Max. What started as humble jam session in a high school hall eventually turned into a world-class, international touring machine and one of the biggest Australian heavy metal bands of all time. Formed by singer and guitarist 'Lord' Tim, Dungeon relocated to Sydney in 1992 and eventually singed a world-wide publishing deal with BMG Australia which led to the release of the Changing Moods demo EP (featuring drumming virtuoso Virgil Donati). The EP gained the attention of Japanese label TDK-Core Records who convinced the band to release the Changing Moods songs, plus other demo material exactly as it was under the name of Demolition. Founded in California during 1965, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has lasted longer than virtually any other country-based rock group of their era. Younger contemporaries of the Byrds, they played an almost equally important role in the transformation from folk-rock into country-rock, and were an influence on such bands as the Eagles and Alabama. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's beginnings lay with the New Coast Two, a folk duo consisting of Jeff Hanna (guitar, vocals) and Bruce Kunkel (guitar, washtub bass), formed while both were in high school in the early '60s. By the time the two were college students, they were having informal jams at a Santa Monica, CA, guitar shop called McCabe's. It was there that they met Ralph Barr (guitar, washtub bass), Les Thompson (vocals, mandolin, bass, guitar, banjo, percussion), Jimmie Fadden (harmonica, vocals, drums, percussion), and Jackson Browne (guitar, vocals). This lineup became the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in late 1965, and began playing jug band music at local clubs.
