Ironically, Bobby's biggest pop hit was never credited to him. In 1958 both Bobby and Elvis Presley were entering the service at about the same time. Before Bobby went in, he cut a demo entitled "All American Boy" which described the story of Elvis' career to that point, and he gave it to his friend Bill Parsons to record. Parsons recorded it, but Fraternity Records liked the demo Bobby Bare had done better so they released it instead but put Parsons name on the record. "All American Boy" went to #2 in 1958, but Bobby established his career later signing with Chet Atkins and RCA Records, and recording "Detroit City" which won a Grammy for Country and Western Song of the Year in 1963.. + Informações
