This video starts at the assembly area at Shoemaker's Truck stop in Lincoln for the Nebraska fallen warriors wreath laying ceremony. It features an interview with Ed Waymire, Commander of the American Legion Riders Post 3 Lincoln. Gold Star father, Bruce Slaven who traveled from Oklahoma.to support the ceremony and an interview with Bob Swanson, from American Legion Riders Omaha Post 1, who conveyed a message of service and sacrifice and why attending these ceremonies are a good way to keep what these men and women that have sacrificed for this nation, in the public's mind. These riders were divided in to two groups called "Sticks." Each Stick had 30 bikes. They departed Lincoln approximately 15 minutes apart. The music starts on the on ramp to Interstate 80, with the groups riding Interstate-80 west to the rally point in Grand Island, Nebraska. There they gassed up and meet up with some more riders who came out to support this event. The riders departed GI for Hastings where the mission assembly area was located across the street from the American Legion Park in Hastings, Nebraska. (We couldn't use the Park it was too wet) We are grateful that the families granted their permission to film the ceremony by NETV, who produced a Nebraska that aired on Memorial Day weekend 2010. The families of these fallen heroes' have paid more for our freedoms' and liberties than we'll ever know. This week's interview is with Sergeant JD Nelson, of the Alameda County Sheriffs Department, as he introduces us all to a large collection of artifacts that are being gathered and archived in a museum located behind the Santa Rita jail. The collection is made up of historic items, photos, documents and keep sakes that go back as far as the 1800's. A stock of items that continue to grow. With Mr. Nelson looking for any items that have a shard history with the Alameda County Sheriffs.
