Rio, 19/03/1980. Em pé: Junior Marvin, Toquinho e um penetra. Agachados: Jacob Miller, Chico Buarque, Paulo César Caju e Bob Marley. Bob Marley, Junior Marvin (guitarrista dos Wailers), Jacob Miller (vocalista do Inner Circle), Chris Blackwell (diretor da Island Records) e sua esposa Nathalie Blackwell vieram ao Brasil em em março de 1980, num jato particular, para participar da festa que inaugurou as atividades do selo alemão Ariola no país. A Island, gravadora original dos Wailers, era então um selo da Ariola. Bob interrompeu as sessões de gravação que resultariam no álbum Uprising para vir ao Brasil. Na descida em Manaus, para reabastecimento, o jato ficou retido por algumas horas. O governo militar certamente não estava vendo com bons olhos a vinda daquela comitiva enfumaçada. Depois de alguma negociação as autoridades acabaram cedendo, mas sem liberar vistos de trabalho, o que desestimulou os que pensaram em improvisar uma apresentação deles em solo brasileiro. Passaram por Brasília e rapidamente decolaram em direção ao Rio de Janeiro, chegando aeroporto Santos Dumont às 18h30m do dia 18 de março, terça-feira. No dia seguinte, o trio jamaicano chegou às 16h no km 18 da Avenida Sernambetiba (três horas atrasados), num campinho onde o time dos funcionários da Ariola jogavam contra alguns dos contratados da gravadora no Brasil, como Chico Buarque, Toquinho, Alceu Valença e outros.
