*Interested in buying ranchus? Send me a message. These are my Butterfly Telescopes and 2 Black Moors :) There is one Pearlscale temporarily in this tank (she'll be moving next week to her own tank). The biggest telescope is Percy - I've had her since 2009 when she was a 2inch black moor. She is now about 12 inches long from head to tail. Total water circulation is 90gallons ( 55gallon connected to a 35gallon water sump). Once I move the pearlscale goldfish, there will be at least 23 gallons for EACH Telescope and Moor. Setup includes an Aquaclear 110 Filter rated @500gph, a Marineland Penguin 200B Filter and an Aquaclear 70 Powerhead connected to a Hydro V Sponge Filter. They are fed New Life Spectrum Sinking Pellets 2mm. Water Changes at 80% every weekend. The black moor is a telescope-eyed variety of fancy goldfish that has a characteristic pair of protruding eyes. It is also referred to as popeye, telescope, kuro demekin in Japan and dragon-eye in China. Black Moors (Carassius auratus) have deep bodies and long, flowing finnage, along with characteristic protruding eyes. They are veiltailed and possess metallic scales with a velvet-like appearance. Young Moors resemble bronze fantails. Their black coloration and eye protrusion develop with age. They can grow up to a length of 10 inches, but may not lose their velvet-like appearance with increasing age (life span: 6 to 25 years). Black demekins may also revert to metallic orange when exposed to warm water temperature. The fish can range in coloring anywhere from a lighter grey to a dark black, but most Black Moor goldfish don't stay pure black forever and many Of them change colors from a rust color underbelly to orange splotches. Black moor goldfish are popular because they are hardy fish, and because their black color sets them apart from the more common gold color. Goldfish are typically easy to care for, surprisingly, black moors in particular are able to withstand a wide variety of temperatures but cannot withstand extreme temperatures.They are good with other fish.. + Informações

I went to Wal-mart one day and as I was looking into the dirty, unkempt aquariums at all the sick and pathetic excuses for fish I watched one of the employees netting out fish that were dead or near death and drop them into a dry "write off" bucket. On top of the little pile of dead fish I saw this poor goldfish move. She looked so sad and desperate it just broke my heart. As bad off as she was I didn't know how much I could do for her but she just didn't look like she was ready to give up. The employee told me at first that I couldn't have her because she was too sick but he finally relented when I wouldn't leave him alone lol. I got her for free because he was so sure she was going to die anyway. When I got her home I took some of the filter media from 1 of my healthy tanks and used it to set up a 10gallon hospital tank for her. I immediately started her on antibiotics as well as other medications to combat all the issues she was facing. She bottom sat in the corner for 2 days before she started feeling well enough to move around. Her full recovery took 3 months but now she's happy, healthy, and enjoying life with my other goldfishes. She has a nice pond to live in during the spring and summer, and a nice big fish tank during the fall and winter. What's the morel of the story?? Wal-mart shouldn't sell fish in the 1st place! People get arrested for doing the same abuse and neglect to dogs, cats, horses,ect. Just because a fish doesn't have fur doesn't mean it should have .... + Informações

Complete accident! I had no clue they would spawn together, I also assumed they weren't large enough (each is 2+ a bit inches from nose to tip of tail). But the black moor got his breeding tubercles last week which I though was ich until the day before yesterday when I looked it up (I was out of meds thank goodness). He was chasing the ryukin around this morning and I saw her release about 20 eggs! She releases again near the end of the video too :). + Informações

My fish has a large growth on his back near his top fin... what could this be? He has had it for about 5 months now and it seems to be doubling in size every couple of days. He is very active and healthy other than the mass. Please help save my fish? --- WELL... people have asked if my fish made it. He lasted about 6 months in this state, then the growth eventually got so large that he flipped over and was swimming and eating upside down!!!! Not Cool! Unfortunately, I had to put him to sleep. I was told through a vet (animal doctor) to use CLOVE OIL. I purchased a $5 bottle through a drug store and use the whole bottom is about 1/2 a gallon of water. I place him in the water and he went to sleep in about 1/2 hour. It was sad, since I had him for 2.5 years! He was very healthy up until the growth and for those that have asked about how I got his fins so big... he was a normal healthy Black Moor bought at a fish store and he grow that way. :). + Informações
