78s - High Brown Blues - Billy Murray & The American Quartet 3.58 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 429 exibições My favorite artist singing a great song written by Jack Yellen and Milton Ager in 1921. With Murray exclusive to Victor beginning on July 1, 1920, Edison executives in mid-1920 assembled a new group of singers for its Premier Quartet, picking first tenor Charles Hart, second tenor Billy Jones, baritone Steve Porter (the only member from the old quartet), and bass Harry J. Donaghy. Edison continued to use the Premier name. Donaghy told Walsh that the new quartet's first Edison recording was "Oh By Jingo! Oh By Gee!" It was released as Blue Amberol 4041 in August 1920, then on Diamond Disc 50666 in September. At least some record buyers must have recognized a change in the Premier's sound. The new ensemble was known on other labels as either the Harmonizers or Harmonizers Quartet. Never very popular, the Harmonizers disbanded by mid-1922. Diamond Disc 50944, featuring "Huckleberry Finn," was the last Premier Quartet record to be issued. It was released in September 1922 but had been recorded in 1917, so "Huckleberry Finn" features the voices of the original Premier Quartet. The American became defunct just as Victor switched to the electric recording process. No electrically recorded performances featured the name American Quartet. The Quartet's final release, "Alabamy Bound" (19680), was issued in August 1925. Two months earlier, Victor had begun issuing electric discs (without identifying them to the buying public as being electric), but "Alabamy Bound" was an acoustic .... + Informações |

It was released as a single on January 27, 1956, Presley's first on his new record label RCA Victor. His first number-one pop record, "Heartbreak Hotel" topped Billboard's Top 100 chart, became his first million-seller, and was the best-selling single of 1956. It was written by Tommy Durden and Mae Boren Axton. Cover versions Radio humorist Stan Freberg parodied "Heartbreak Hotel" immediately after its release, because the vocals on the original record featured a heavy use of reverb. In the cover, the lead singer repeatedly asks for "more echo on [his] voice." When Presley recorded "Hound Dog" a few months later, he had taken over the role of producer, using what he learned at Sun Records (although Sholes was still credited) and decided not to use echo. Country singer Johnny Cash parodied the song in 1959 on the television show Town Hall Party, imitating Presley's characteristic crib and hip movements. Before the .... + Informações |

Natalie Marie - Don't Stop Your Praise 4.05 min. | 3.0 avaliação | 6986 exibições Don't Stop Your Praise Natalie Marie Natalie Marie Bio: Natalie Marie was born in Simi Valley, Ca on November 28th. The third of ten children, grew up in Southern California with the natural ability to sing, dance, write, draw, model and act. Being a fourth generation singer provided Natalie with a variety of musical influence: Jazz, Rhythm, Blues, Pop, Opera, Gospel and Spanish music. Her Italian, German, Irish, Mexican, Filipino and French ethnicities made her the exotic beauty that she is today. "I always pictured myself singing in front of millions of people," recalls Natalie. "Singing at school with friends was where I really began to open up as a singer. I just loved to listen to the radio in my bedroom and sing along." Throughout her junior high school years, Natalie modeled, took dance, acting and singing lessons. She then became a Miss Teen USA finalist at age thirteen. "I didn't even know how to read music or that I had a six octave voice of range until High school." By senior year, Natalie was performing often as "High School Soloist", at school, "Jazz band singer" at local jazz night clubs, local restaurants and other public venues. As president of her choir class, Lead Singer of the jazz band, Dance Team Dancer, and directing both choir and chorus classes; Natalie learned to manage her many abilities. She would be invited to open for her 1997' Senior Awards Night, awarded "Best Performer" and, "Most Beautiful Eyes" by her peers.
