My cover of "Mountain of Love". "Mountain of Love" is a song written by Harold Dorman. Dorman released his (original) version as a single in 1960. It performed well, reaching the number 21 position on the Billboard Hot 100. It was the highest charting single of his career. This cover is done in the style of Harold Dorman, whose (original) rendition I prefer over that of Johnny Rivers' remake (although I very much liked Rivers' version) because of the much greater feeling that Dorman put into this song, and the sadness he evokes and it just plain sounds better to me. YUBA CITY, CA - A day of fun for a family ended a nightmare on Saturday all because of two compelte morons. At around 5:30 Saturday afternoon, 3-year-old Dominique was washing his shoes off in about 6-inches of water as his family prepared to leave after a day of swimming. As usual with most lakes and rivers, there were boats, skiers and jetski's on the water. Whie most are operated responsibly with no incidents, some are operated by idiots as well as intoxicated idiots. Dominick happened to have the unfortunate of meeting John Blanchard, 65, and Allan Minkema, 50, when they decided to run their jet ski on to the beach at 20 mph.
