GFD was toned out for a reported fire in the 3700 block of Delaware, on arrival Engine 4 advised of a working basement fire. Not long after the fire traveled the walls all the way to the attic which made for a difficult attack. Multiple lines were stretched into the dwelling to bring the fire under control. Here's a video clip of the 3 alarm fire in Spokane Washington it started in the basement of Dorian photography studios. One firefighter was injured in this fire at the time of posting this video it is still burning. Dorian has been housed in the building since 1973. Crews were concerned that the smoke may have contained chemicals from a photo studio that was located in the basement where the fire was burning. Thick cement walls helped to contain the fire to the basement, but officials say that the area heated up like a furnace, making it impossible for firefighters to go inside to knock down the fire. Story: A little fire alarm went off somewhere in the building and a few teachers went to find out what was going on. I was sitting doing a test on a school computer when suddently they shouted "Everybody out... out!" and the fire alarm system in the building started sounding. We went outside and everything was calm and nice. A teacher was using a fire extinguisher against the fire which was behind a window in the basement, beside the main entrance to the building, untill the brigade arrived to take over. Shortly after 6pm on Jan 4, 2012 multiple calls came into fire alarm reporting a house fire at 235 Cass Ave. Arriving companies found heavy fire in the basement rapidly extending to the upper floors. About 20 minutes into the fire, firefighters had to evacuate the building because of deteriorating conditions. They then quickly knocked the heavy overlapping fire down from the exterior and went back in and finished knocking it down. Video by John Garber of a multiple alarm fire in Girardville, Schuylkill County, PA. The fire started in the basement and quickly spread throughout five homes. A team of firefighters were trapped in a third floor room when a piece of furniture fell over and blocked their exit and they began to run low on air.
