Capps sang and played on WCKB-Dunn NC and in 1956 Jimmy worked in both radio and TV in Florence, South Carolina with a performer named Slim Mims. Jimmy moved on to Wilson to work with Slim Short and he played local clubs in Benson in a band called The Tar Heels. An audition in 1958 changed Jimmy's life forever when he became the guitar player for The Louvin Brothers. He took over that job when their current guitar player, Paul Yandell, was drafted into the US Army. During his first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry, Capps backed the Louvin .... + Informações

The Life and Work of Guitarist, Session Musician, Ray Edenton ?Album: Ten Golden Years: Decca Records DL-74757 (1966) ?Single: Fool No. 1 (1961) ?Written By: Kathryn R Fulton ?Produced By: Owen Bradley ?Recorded Bradley Film & Recording Studio, Nashville, Tennessee Musicians: Grady Martin, Hank Garland, Harold Bradley, Ray Edenton (guitar), Bob Moore (bass), Buddy Harman, Douglas Kirkham (drums), Floyd Cramer (piano), Boots Randolph (sax), Dottie Dillard, Anita Kerr, Louis Nunley, Bill Wright (Vocals) If I was limited to two words to honor the work of renowned Nashville studio guitarist Ray Edenton, they would be, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. However, I feel compelled to elaborate, because studio musicians are often overlooked. During his career that spanned four decades, Ray recorded with Eddy Arnold, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis Presley, Brenda Lee, Loretta Lynn, Charley Pride, Bob Wills to name a few. Self-taught and skilled on several instruments, Ray worked on recording sessions from 1953, until his retirement in 1991. Although he is skilled on many instruments, rhythm guitar is his specialty. Ray Edenton (b. 11/3/1926, Mineral, Virginia) Ray was born into a musical family. His two brothers played guitar and fiddle and his mother played piano. Ray's first instrument was a fiddle and from there went to a four string tenor banjo tuned to guitar pitch. Ray began honing his skills by working local square dances. In 1946, Edenton joined the Rodeo Rangers on .... + Informações
