Carnaval à "Benfica" Domingo e Terça-Feira o tradicional Carnaval saiu à rua em Benfica do Ribatejo (Almeirim). Apesar crise e da contenção orçamental, este foi um dos mais concorridos e animados desfiles de sempre e contou com a presença do Vereador da Cultura, José Carlos em representação da Autarquia de Almeirim, e de milhares de pessoas entre participantes, mascarados e curiosos. Este é mais um ano em que as ruas da Vila de Benfica do Ribatejo se encheram de alegria e boa disposição. Muita música, humor e sátira foram os ingredientes do corso composto por 150 foliões e 8 carros alegóricos. Em homenagem ao "Carnaval" foliões e carros alegóricos apresentaram temas relacionados com o sobreiro, considerado recentemente a árvore Nacional Portuguesa, agricultura, banda desenhada, Barbie, Anos 60 e os hippies. Dia 21 de Fevereiro 2012, das 14h00 às 18h00, um dos Carnavais mais tradicionais do Concelho de Almeirim regressa às ruas da Vila de Benfica, com a promessa de contagiar todos os foliões. Ao longo dos últimos anos, o Carnaval de Benfica do Ribatejo tem mantido acesa a tradição e, este ano, volta a sair para a rua num cortejo, que tem como mote "Carnaval de Benfica: à Benfica". Carros alegóricos, grupos de rua vestidos a rigor são os ingredientes para animar esta época festiva, que se celebra a rigor na freguesia de Benfica. The film stars Steve Reeves as the titular hero and Sylva Koscina as his love interest Princess Iole. Hercules was directed by Pietro Francisci and produced by Federico Teti. The film spawned a sequel, Hercules Unchained (Italian: Ercole e la Regina di Lidia), that also starred Reeves and Koscina. Hercules made Reeves an international film star and effectively paved the way for the dozens of 1960s sword and sandal flicks featuring oily bodybuilders as mythological heroes and gladiators battling monsters, despots, and evil queens. Hercules has been broadcast on American television, is in the public domain, and is available in both VHS and DVD formats. In 1993 the film was lampooned on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
