Ensiferum (lat.: schwerttragend) ist eine finnische Metal-Band, die meist dem Viking- oder Folk Metal zugeordnet wird. Sie wurde 1995 von Markus Toivonen, Sauli Savolainen und Kimmo Miettinen gegründet. Von den genannten spielt heute nur noch Toivonen bei Ensiferum. Er schreibt größtenteils die Musik der Stücke. Michael Kiske, nascido em 24 de janeiro de 1968, na cidade de Hamburgo, Alemanha, começou sua carreira muito cedo. Aos 17 anos já cantava em uma banda formada por amigos de colégio, chamada I'll Prophecy. Aos 18 anos, foi chamado para se juntar ao Helloween, banda de power metal da Alemanha, que até então já tinha lançado um álbum. Kiske gravou 5 álbuns com a banda, sendo 4 de estúdio (Keeper of The Seven Keys I e II, Pink Bubbles Go Ape e Chameleon) e 1 ao vivo (Live In UK). Em 1994, após um desentendimento com os alguns integrantes e por divergências musicais, foi despedido. Kiske então decidiu se dedicar á carreira solo, fazendo também participações em CDs de Metal, como o "Land of The Free" do Gamma Ray. Em 1996, lança seu primeiro disco solo intutilado "Instant Clarity", que conta com a participação de Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden) e Kai Hansen (ex-Helloween/Gamma Ray). No mesmo ano, Kiske lança seu livro em alemão 'Kunst und Materialismus'. Seguindo sua carreira solo, em 1999, é lançado seu segundo disco, "Readiness To Sacrifice". Este disco segue a linha do primeiro, onde as vendas acabaram por piorar, havendo pouca aceitação do disco pela crítica e público. Em 2002, Kiske participa de uma Metal Opera, Avantasia, produzida por Tobias Sammet do Edguy, tendo como personagem o druida Lugaid Vandroy. Kiske também investe na banda Supared. Hot N Cold will be released on the Los Colorados album "MOVE IT!", together with their Football-Hit 'I Like To Move It' There was three of them: Ruslan Prystupnic Prystupa (lead vocals), Rostyslav Roslyk Fook (guitar, backing vocals), Serhiy Masyanya Masyk (bass guitar, backing vocals). They were working at the same office in Ternopil. Each of them had some experience in making music in different bands. Once they decided to play for fun and make a great song Pomidory (Tomatoes). After that boys realized, that the new band was started. It was hard to play rock music without drums, so a new member of group appeared Oleksandr Guns Davosyr.
