The 76ers new ownership, which includes CEO Adam Aron (who went to school here) & minority owner Will Smith (who, of course, is "West Philadelphia, born & raised"), wanted a more fan-friendly experience at home basketball games. Among the changes this year over the previous 3-4 years: - installing new theatrical lights - hiring 8 more cheerleaders & requiring all 20 of them to work every game - having a new/different halftime act every game; and, the most noticeable upgrade of them all - enlisting American Idol Finalist & Nashville recording artist Ayla Brown to sing the National Anthem at every home game, backed by our very own Philadelphia Orchestra!! As an added bonus treat, Ayla puts on a live performance each week, either in/around the concourse before the games or inside of the arena at halftime!! This particular video clip was from our January 13, 2012, game v. the Washington Wizards (w/ champion boxer Bernard Hopkins in attendance) before we preceded to defeat them, 120-89, as part of our current 6-0 start at home.
