Asomvel - Kamikaze - from the album: Kamikaze (2009) & How The Mighty Fall - from the EP: Full Moon Dog (2007) Live at 41 East Coast, Hull - Bad Dog Stage www.facebook.com www.asomvel.co.uk http www.facebook.com www.myspace.com www.last.fm Called in at short notice to replace the recently split-up Blood Red Dawn were the mighty Asomvel, who accepted despite drummer Ian having three cracked ribs and a punctured lung... you can't tell on this evidence. And as Asomvel only write short songs (usually around the three minute mark), I thought I'd film two for good measure. It's also concrete proof that Swifto is doing a fine job of living up to the seemingly impossible task of filling the gap left by Jay Jay Winter, who will temporarily break off from guzzling an entire horn of Jameson's Irish Whiskey (Lenny tells me that's his favourite) in Valhalla to roar his approval in a gravelly Yorkshire accent. As with XIII, I had the help of a large steel beam at the back of the hall to lean on, so even my camerawork has taken an upturn. No idea what's happened with the whiteout at the beginning of this video - the original file works fine, so it's happened in YouTube's processing, but all the footage of the band actually playing is intact. And best of all, I *can* stop the Internet Commandos, as I do on every video.. + Informações

Skyclad - The One Piece Puzzle From the album: Prince Of The Poverty Line (1994) Live at 41 East Coast, Hull - Black Stage www.facebook.com www.skycladmusic.co.uk v2.metal-archives.com www.facebook.com www.myspace.com www.last.fm And so to the headliners, who have been around for 20 years and played one track each from their 12 albums - plus a couple of bonuses at the end. I figured I'd wait for the highlights - those early 90s albums - and managed to bag one of the few tracks which a future folk(ish) metal band has gone on to cover; Suidakra made their own version of The One Piece Puzzle on their fourth album, The Arcanum, in 2000. Elvenking (covering Penny Dreadful, also played by Skyclad in this set) are the only other one I can think of. More bands in the genre, pay your due respects to the originators! Unfortunately, by this time it was late, I'd been awake for 16 hours, and my camera arm was absolutely knackered so there's even more shaking and hand-swapping in this video than there is for the eleven minutes of Old Corpse Road. Grovelling apologies for that. And WHAT IS THE PROBLEM with Youtube doing this whiteout at the beginning of the video AGAIN? (See also: Asomvel) That is not in my original file!
