Bij het winkelcentrum de Schelfhorst werd de menigte toegesproken door vrienden van Ashana en de burgemeester van Almelo. Daarna volgde de tocht langs het ouderlijk huis van Ashana waar bloemen gelegd werden. Ashana werd vrijdagavond doodgeschoten toen ze aan het werk was als cassiere in de C1000.
