Matt Cardle does a stunning performance of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" for the top 10 (American Anthems) of X Factor 2010. "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" is a 1957 folk song written by political singer/songwriter Ewan MacColl for Peggy Seeger, who was later to become his wife. At the time the couple were lovers, although MacColl was married to someone else. MacColl wrote the song for Seeger, also a folk singer, after she asked him to pen a song for a play she was in. This is the first part of a series of videos I will be doing using the (still in development) Arma 2 mod DayZ, a persistent world zombie modification. If they ever get a proper website up and running I'll definitely edit it into the description of this video. Having just finished being given a quick run down of the mod and its mechanics as it currently stands by the developer, we decided to split into two main groups, with a purpose of meeting each other around the Green Mountain TV tower in central Chernarus later in the day. Subsequent episodes will not be as seemingly cut down as this one, with less "teleportation" between locales and more discussion within party members. Titling it the name of the mod, "DayZ," sounded a little lame, as it sounds like "daisy" and "Jay Z," so after pretty much ten seconds of brainstorming, I came up with "The Days Ahead." My thought process was hilariously simple, since the main developer (I think) is a New Zealander, I went with something inspired by their funny way to pronounce Z, "zed," and "The Days Ahead" was born. It also sounds pretentious so that's good! As always, there's no update schedule, just check in every now and again and you'll find new episodes mixed in with the rest of my normal stuff. Mark Jansen: Pirates is a tune that is well known around the world by now. It was a pleasant surprise for the listener to have some scores between the traditional classic pieces we performed. Pirates was spectacular during the live performance. Also on the album it stands out. Andy: Who transformed the score? Mark: Yves (Yves huts is the Bass guitar player of Epica). Andy: Was it difficult to transform the Pirates music to a rock version? Mark: No, the pieces are very accessible and gives multiple option and possibilities to create something beautiful out of it. Obviously you need the necessary experience, but after all the years we acquired this and are able to put our hands on this classic.
