Song from Opeth's 'My Arms, Your Hearse'. Enjoy! I also stuck on Prologue at the beggining coz it goes on for like 50 seconds, so April Ethereal starts at 0:59 I think. Prologue is an instrumental but in the lyric booklet there is a poem: A morning in magenta, the petals fed from the dew. She held her breath for a moment, to pause off the stream. Still clinging to vast, old memories. And I would marvel at her beauty, playing through the rain. The coffin is beautifully engraved. Stained by soil, symbols of death. All of which are stared upon, with porcelain eyes it seems. Some spoke, and it was my turn to go. In death entwined, I could not believe. But it hangs around my neck. I normally don't upload covers like this, but April Ethereal is one of my favorite Opeth songs from probably my favorite Opeth album, 1998's "My Arms, Your Hearse." In this video, I'm playing my Ibanez RG8527 through my Axe-FX Ultra, using the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier amp model (RECTO NEW) for rhythm guitar and the Fender Twin Reverb amp model (DOUBLE VERB) for clean guitar. There are a few mistakes in the video, but the song is almost 9 minutes long, so I didn't feel like re-recording it. My second Opeth cover. Once again I didn't intend to make everything perfect, and the entire video is in one take. I've done several attempts across about five days to make it as good as I possibly could. I wanted to pay tribute to one of my favourite bands. Just because this album is so awesome, and because it's a concept album with each song representing a time of the year, in this case April, I wanted to make it on the first of May just for the irony's sake. So I hope I have etherealized April successfully even though it's the first of May. I decided to include "Prologue" as well because I'm thinking of covering the entire album, and it's a nice intro. Unfortunately "April Ethereal" was one of the last songs I got into when I first started listening to "My Arms, Your Hearse". The case with Opeth is you need to hear the songs several times or you'll underestimate the depth of their music. Recorded May 1using a Pentax Optio M30 regular digital camera, audio recorded with an iAudio 7. Edited using Magix Music Maker 10 Deluxe and streamed as a 640x480 resolution Windows Media Video with 25 fps. Recorded using a cheap mixer, JJLabs microphones, and Peace drums with one Zildjian Planet Z-cymbal (right) (it's broken and it kind of represents a china) and one Sabian B8 16" rock crash (left).
