Anthony Cruz, nació en New Jersey, donde a temprana edad dejó demostrado su talento como cantante al ganar un concurso de vocalistas en New York, a la corta edad de 5 años. Allí se destacó también cantando con varios grupos juveniles salseros del momento. Antes de convertirse en solista para el sello Musical Productions, Anthony traía consigo un extenso bagaje musical que lo hacía digno merecedor de esta gran oportunidad. Formó parte de la Orquesta Internacional de Pedro Conga, corista en las producciones de Roberto Lugo, Pedro Arroyo, Nino Segarra; y cantante principal del fenecido Mario Ortíz. Su primera producción bajo Musical Productions llevó por título «Algo Nuevo», del cual se destacaron los temas «No le temas a él», con el cual alcanzó altos niveles de popularidad que lo llevaron a obtener un Disco de Oro y exitosas presentaciones personales a través del mundo .
