French Kiss Bite your tongue until it bleeds. French kiss me and believe. Betraying family ties by spreading family lies. Down here we all have our hopes. Down here we all have our dreams. No one has ways or means. Down here we all have hopes and dreams. (This is the end of me). (At least thats the way it seems). Bite your tongue until it bleeds. French kiss me and believe. This could save my life. Bite your tongue until it bleeds. French kiss me and believe. Betraying family ties by spreading family lies. The pain of your kiss is matched only by the hiss of my last breath loneliness in death. Down here we all have our hopes. Down here we all have our dreams. No one has ways or means. Interview with nun who wrote meditations for Way of the Cross with the Pope 2.02 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 799 exibições April 22, 2011. (Romereports.com) In the Augustinian monastery of Santi Quattro Rome Coronati, lives sister Maria Rita Piccione. She's the first woman to whom Pope Benedict XVI assigned the meditations for Good Friday's Stations of the Cross at the Colosseum. At first, sister Piccione, was surprised at her assignment. Sister Maria Rita Piccione President Federation of Italian Augustinian Monasteries "I think the Pope decided to assign this task to a nun because he has dedicated many catechesis, since September of last year until February of this year, to female figures of the religious world. It's nice to think that he has entrusted this prayer of the Church to a contemplative nun, who in the Church represents the heart of the vocation." Sister Maria Rita is president of the Federation of Augustinian monasteries in Italy. She had written small meditations for the community before, yet this is the first time she's been commissioned to a task of this type. She says her main inspiration is the Gospel. Sister Maria Rita Piccione President, Federation of Augustinian nuns in Italy "I was listening to the Gospel, which talked about the first Station of the Cross. From that reading, I gathered a little reflection that touched my heart and triggered a confession. After, came a type of invocation to the Holy Spirit. That's how the prayer structure was born. It includes a brief reflection and a written prayer for the confession of the heart and the invocation to the Holy Spirit .... + Informações |

Augustine of Hippo - The City of God (Part 1 of 69) 47.12 min. | 4.851852 avaliação | 7792 exibições Augustine of Hippo Playlist: www.youtube.com Augustine of Hippo - The City of God (Part 1 of 69) Amazon.com Review "Augustine's City of God, a monumental work of religious lore, philosophy, and history, was written as a kind of literary tombstone for Roman culture. After the sack of Rome, Augustine wrote this book to anatomize the corruption of Romans' pursuit of earthly pleasures: "grasping for praise, open-handed with their money; honest in the pursuit of wealth, they wanted to hoard glory." Augustine contrasts his condemnation of Rome with an exaltation of Christian culture. The glory that Rome failed to attain will only be realized by citizens of the City of God, the Heavenly Jerusalem foreseen in Revelation. Because City of God was written for men of classical learning--custodians of the culture Augustine sought to condemn--it is thick with Ciceronian circumlocutions, and makes many stark contrasts between "Your Virgil" and "Our Scriptures." Even if Augustine's prose strikes modern ears as a bit bombastic, and if his polarized Christian/pagan world is more binary than the one we live in today, his arguments against utopianism and his defense of the richness of Christian culture remain useful and strong. City of God is, as its final words proclaim itself to be, "a giant of a book." "--Michael Joseph Gross BB Warfield said, "Augustine [was one of the early founders] of Roman Catholicism and the author of that doctrine of grace which it has been the constantly pursued .... + Informações |

Science & Sanctity Clothing sponsors Anguish IV Augustine - French Kiss 1.95 min. | 0 avaliação | 271 exibições I'm Jeremy Steel of EidolonVisage Productions: I filmed this band as a favor to a friend. An interesting note, all this footage is from one camera, as a result you'll notice there is no lip sync. In fact the footage is from quite a few songs. Towards the end you can really notice this, but for the most of it I think my friend did a great job of making it look in sync. I really enjoyed these guy's music, check 'em out! -2008. + Informações |

14. Paul as Missionary 50.25 min. | 0 avaliação | 15368 exibições Introduction to New Testament (RLST 152) The New Testament and other texts provide us with many accounts of the Apostle Paul, some that contradict each other. Throughout the history of Christianity, Paul has assumed many different roles for different people. For the early Christians he was primarily a martyr. For St. Augustine, and later Martin Luther, he was a man interpreting the Gospel through his psychological struggle with guilt. The historical Paul seems to have been a man preaching an apocalyptic message to the gentiles. 00:00 - Chapter 1. Paul, the Protean Apostle 13:16 - Chapter 2. 4. Inferno V, VI, VII 71.07 min. | 0 avaliação | 6121 exibições Dante in Translation (ITAL 310) This lecture examines Inferno IV -VII. Dante's Limbo, modeled on the classical locus amoenus, is identified as a place of repose and vulnerability. Here, in fact, among the poets of antiquity, the pilgrim falls prey to poetic hubris by joining in their ranks. The pilgrim is faced with the consequences of his poetic vocation when he descends to the circle of lust (Inferno V), where Francesca da Rimini, in her failure to distinguish romance from reality, testifies to the dangers inherent to the act of reading. From the destructive power of lust within the private world of the court, Dante moves on to the effects of its sister sin, gluttony, on the public sphere of the city. The relationship posited in Inferno VI between Ciacco and his native Florence is read as a critique of the "body politic." In conclusion, Virgil's discourse on Fortune in the circle of avarice and prodigality (Inferno VII) is situated within the Christian world of divine providence. 00:00 - Chapter 1. The Ambiguities of Gardens 04:10 - Chapter 2. Canto V: The Second Circle 13:14 - Chapter 3. The Lustful in the Second Circle 19:40 - Chapter 4. The second half of the lecture introduces students to two prominent mysteries in the field of psychology. First, students will learn what is known and unknown about sleep, including why we sleep, the different types of sleep, disorders, and of course, dreams, what they are about and why we have them. Second, this half reviews how laughter remains a mysterious and interesting psychological phenomenon.
