Andre Kostelanetz - Sweet Surrender 3.35 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 13126 exibições Russian-born Andre Kostelanetz was one of the pioneers of easy listening music. He started his career with American radiostations in the 1920's and '30's and from 1940 on, he started issueing albums which at first contained "classical music" arranged in a "popular way" but soon Andre also "tackled" the popsongs of his era. He re-arranged them for orchestra and during the 1940's, 50's,60's and 70's (up to his death in 1980 at 78) his music duly found a large audience, not in the least because many radiostations worldwide aired his tunes quite regularly. His arrangement of the David Gates song "Sweet Surrender" inspired us to create this presentation titled "Reach for the Skies". Hope you enjoy !. + Informações |

Andre Kostelanetz - Born Free 3.23 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 10880 exibições Andre Kostelanetz and John Barry join forces for the second time here on the channel and what you'll be hearing is a magnificent version of the all time movie evergreen "Born Free". Written in 1966 by Barry for the movie with the same name, the song received an Academy Award for Best Original Song that same year. Originally performed in the movie by Matt Monro the song has been covered by an extended range of artists since it's release, and Andy Williams' version probably is the best known to music lovers worldwide. Many orchestras have put the song on their repertoire and here now is Andre Kostelanetz bringing us what could be called "an all-in arrangement". There's the romantic side of the theme, but Kostelanetz makes sure to also include some adventure while keeping in mind the "awesome African landscape" aspect of the music. Again, this is a 'full orchestration' piece that clearly deserves repeated listening (you may discover new elements in the music each time you listen to it). From the 1973 album "Moon River" here is Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra with a great interpretation of John Barry's "Born free" . Enjoy your 'African trip' ;-). + Informações |

Andre Kostelanetz - "My Love" 3.60 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 4332 exibições From the 1972 CBS vinyl (stereo) LP, "Andre Kostelanetz Plays Great Hits Of Today", comes what I think is one of the finest orchestral arrangements ever created for this Beatles hit. I hope you enjoy it. For the technically-minded:- The vinyl was played on a Garrard Zero-100 tangential turntable utilising a Shure M7OBX magnetic cartridge. The analogue signal was then input via a NAD PP3 USB Preamp to my HP Pavilion laptop running Windows XP. The sound was recorded as a WAV file using VinylStudio and then converted to an MP3 using GoldWave editing suite. The final MP4 file was created with VideoPad video editor before uploading to You Tube. For more recordings from not-often-heard 1960's/1970's vinyl LP's, including other Kostelanetz offerings, just search for hcrun.. + Informações |

This track is taken from Volume 12 of "William B. Williams: Make Believe Ballroom," a set of boxed LPs developed by Multilingua, Inc., and produced and distributed by American Express sometime in 1984. William B. Andre Kostelanetz - Loving You 3.10 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 2821 exibições Andre Kostelanetz makes his appearance again on the channel, and this time 'things are swingin' ! As usual with music by Mr Kostelanetz, the orchestration leaves nothing to be wished for and the sound is rich and powerful. For this arrangement Kostelanetz put the emphasis on the brass section (mostly using saxophone) rather than the violins (which usually dominate a Kostelanetz recording). But whatever instruments are being used, the music always has one typical feature : it's top quality 'entertainment' ! From the 2001 special release "The Ultimate Collection" here's Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra with "Loving You". Swing it :) !. + Informações |

Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra - Jambalaya 3.35 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 4892 exibições Orchestrator, arranger and bandleader Jack Costner wrote this spectacular arrangement for Andre Kostelanetz' version of the Hank Williams "classic" "Jambalaya" also known under the title "On The Bayou". Published in 1952 the song has been covered by an array of performers, vocalists and instrumentalists alike. The somewhat younger part of the audience may be familiar with The Carpenters' rendition while folks who are 'less young' ;) may remember Elvis Presley's version. Here, Andre Kostelanetz really "kicks ass" with his orchestral interpretation and this one may no doubt be described as "orchestral fireworks" ! The instrumentation is extremely rich (you might discover new instruments upon each listening session) and the general sound breathes quality from beginning to end. A masterpiece if you ask me, and a real "Leckerbischen" for lovers of the easy listening genre. From the 1973 album "Last Tango in Paris" here is Andre Kostelanetz playing "Jambalaya" for your listening pleasure ! Enjoy !. + Informações |

Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra - Maria Elena 2.52 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 4004 exibições Well, If you don't recognize this melody, you probably have been living on another planet ;-) The Laurenzo Barcelata composition "Maria Elena" (published in 1932) was a big hit for Jimmy Dorsey and his Band in the early forties. Later, in the early sixties, it became a worldhit for the famous group "Los Indios Tabajaras". Here, Carroll Huxley wrote a fantastic arrangement for Andre "Kosty" Kostelanetz and His Orchestra. The rich instrumentation, combined with the superb arrangement, make that the listener gets to hear a most soothing piece of music, played by one of the best orchestras in the world. From the 1964 album "I wish you love" here is Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra with their magnificent version of "Maria Elena". Enjoy !. + Informações |

Andre Kostelanetz - In the still of the night 3.18 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 8851 exibições What we have here is a real "treat" if you like easy listening or lounge music. Andre Kostelanetz arranged this famous Cole Porter song in such a way, that - even after listening 5 or 10 times or more - one still may discover new elements in the orchestration. This sound is so 'rich' and exciting that it makes each listening experience a "feast for the ears" ! Cole Porter wrote this song in 1937 for a movie called "Rosalie" and would write many more famous scores and songs in later years. Amongst his most famous compositions are standards like "Night and Day", "I've got you under my skin" and "Begin the Beguine" - to name just a few. Nearly all of the great American jazz singers performed his songs and as such, kept his music alive with the general public. Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis, Judy Garland......the list is just endless. And of course, there also were many orchestral recordings of his great tunes and, in our opinion, the "Andre Kostelanetz plays Cole Porter" album from 1972 ranks amongst the very best. And now here's, for your listening pleasure, one of the superb tracks from that same album : " In the still of the night " Enjoy !. + Informações |

Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra - Deep Purple 3.38 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 4778 exibições Here we have another great "jazz standard" played by Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra. "Deep purple" was written in 1934 by pianist/composer Peter De Rose but at first the song went by rather unnoticed. It wasn't until 1939, when Mitchell Parish added the lyrics that the song began its 'career'. Famous orchestras like Artie Shaw, Larry Clinton and many others started to put the piece on their repertoire. Vocalists were Helen Forest and Bea Wain respectively. Later popular versions were brought by Babe Ruth, (40s) Earl Bostic (50's) and Donny and Mary Osmond (70's). Here, Carroll Huxley presented a beautiful arrangement to Mr Kostelanetz and hence the song was included on Kosty's fantastic 1964 album "I Wish You Love". And, just "pour la petite histoire" : is there a connection between this jazz tune and the pop group 'Deep Purple' ? The answer is .... yes there is ! The British rock band got their name from Pete De Rose's hit after guitarist Ritchie Blackmore's grandmother repeatedly asked if they would be performing the song, her personal favourite. (Not sure if they ever played it for her ;-) From the 1964 album "I Wish You Love" here are Andre "Kosty" Kostelanetz and His Orchestra with the majestic "Deep Purple". Enjoy !. + Informações |

Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra - Twelfth of never 3.27 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 9820 exibições Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra are in supershape here with this whirling arrangement of that famous Johnny Mathis song "The twelfth of never". Published in 1957 by Jerry Livingston and PF Webster, this song, which was an adaptation of the English folk song "The Riddle", soon would find its way to the hitparades. Cliff Richard, Donny Osmond, Tammy Wynette, Roger Miller, Cher, Olivia Newton-John, Barry Manilow and many others recorded it and nearly all of these releases did well in the charts. Here music genius Andre Kostelanetz (who recorded more than 60 albums) gives the tune a kind of "western" touch and that's why our presentation got the title "Spirit of the West". From the 1964 album "Plays the hits of today" here's Andre Kostelanetz with a spectacular version of "The Twelfth of never" ! Enjoy !. + Informações |

Andre Kostelanetz Album With Beautiful HD Photography!!! 15.02 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 2099 exibições Additional Music Videos: ILoveProfHowdy.Com André Kostelanetz (Russian: ?????? ??????????, December 22, 1901 -- January 13, 1980) was a popular orchestral music conductor and arranger, one of the pioneers of easy listening music. Born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Kostelanetz escaped in 1922 after the Russian Revolution. He arrived in the United States that year, and in the 1920s, conducted concerts for radio. In the 1930s, he began his own weekly show on CBS, André Kostelanetz Presents. Kostelanetz was known for arranging and recording light classical music pieces for mass audiences, as well as orchestral versions of songs and Broadway show tunes. He made numerous recordings over the course of his career, which had sales of over 50 million and became staples of beautiful music radio stations. For many years, Kostelanetz also conducted the New York Philharmonic in pops concerts and recordings, in which they were billed as Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra. André Kostelanetz may be best-known to modern audiences for a series of easy listening instrumental albums on Columbia Records from the 1940s until 1980. Kostelanetz actually started making this music before there was a genre called "easy listening". He continued until after some of his contemporaries, including Mantovani, had stopped recording. Outside the United States, one of his best known works was an orchestral arrangement of the tune "With a Song in my Heart", which was the signature tune of a long-running BBC .... + Informações |

Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra - Fools Rush In 2.87 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 2391 exibições Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra bring us this fantastic, brilliantly arranged version of the 1940 ballad "Fools Rush In". Here, the ballad sounds like a swirling "mambo-jambo-fast paced" instrumental that ought to be listened to several times if one wants to discover all the fine elements that can be found in this arrangement. For me personally, this again is one of those tunes that could be 'on the turntable' for a whole day and in the evening I would still be enjoying this masterpiece of easy listening.... It definitely is in my top ten of "best arrangements of orchestral music" From the 1964 album "I Wish You Love" here is Mr Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra with their spectacular rendition of "Fools rush in ..." Enjoy the music and your weekend :). + Informações |
