I wonder why when I hear an Allen Toussaint instrumental, I always think about the French Quarter on a bright blue skied, sun drenched Sunday. Perhaps it's because all of us nuts are still trying to move body parts from the antics of the night before. For me, it was an amazing New Orleans Hornets' win over the San Antonio Spurs at the New Orleans Arena aka "The Hive". For others, it may have been Pat O'Brien Hurricanes. For many, it was just walking up and down Bourbon St. drinking "Big Ass" beers. For lots of our locals (I passed on it last night) it's bar hopping on Frenchmen St., the newest area of town to pop up in old buildings. Technically, it's just outside of the French Quarter in the Faubourg Marigny part of town headin' out of the Quarter to the 9th Ward. Whatever the case, the French Quarter always takes on a real special look on a Sunday. It's just slow and easy and for the lack of a better word, "comfortable". Play on Allen.. + Informações
