All Scars was an amorphous group of musicians from Washington, DC who prided themselves in a shifting experimental sound. During the memorial day weekend in 1999, All Scars were scheduled to play with films created by James Snyder @ DC's Black Cat club. They decided they would take over the entire night and break off into duos to open for themselves. First set was by Jerry Busher - drums & Dug Birdzell - bass. Second set Evan Rapport - reeds & Chuck Bettis - throat. Third set consisted of the full band (at that time, it was the four aforementioned musicians) who then played along with the James Snyder films (James also improvised with them via film projectors and films that night).
