Alex Bradford settled in Chicago, and came into contact with Thomas Dorsey, Sallie Martin and Mahalia Jackson. He sang with various groups before organizing his own all-male chorus, the Bradford Specials in 1954.He was a minister, but he also took Gospel music out of the church. He sang in Langston Hughes' musical "Black Nativity" (1961).He wrote the music and directed musicals such as "Your Arms Too Short To Box With God". During the 1970s, he founded the Creative Movement Repertory Company. Some of his songs are "They Came Out Shouting", "Daniel Was A Praying Man", "Someone Is Lost In The Storm", "Look Into My Heart", "When You Pray", "Living Between Two Worlds". + Informações
