Jakop Ahlbom -- theatermaker, en Alamo Race Track (ART) -- 3FM band, hebben opnieuw een gezamenlijk doel: samen op tournee met de voorstelling LEBENSRAUM. Daarmee zetten ze hun samenwerking na de succesvolle voorstelling Innenschau (2010) voort. Voor LEBENSRAUM laat Jakop Ahlbom zich inspireren door de kamer uit de openingsscène van Buster Keatons Scarecrow ('20). Twee mannen in een kleine kamer, waar het bed zowel bad is en de platenspeler ook de oven is. Zoekend naar ingewikkelde oplossingen voor hun ruimtegebrek, zodat ze elkaar in die te kleine kamer zo min mogelijk tegen hoeven te komen en zo conflicten vermijden. Bij gebrek aan moederlijke zorg ontwikkelen zij uiteindelijk een mechanische werkster. Maar deze op accu aangedreven dame heeft een eigen drive om haar zielloze bestaan te verrijken. Het wordt druk in dat kleine kamertje. Maar of dat de drukkende eenzaamheid verdrijft? Muziek speelt een noodzakelijk rol in de voorstelling. Zoals Keaton gebruik maakte van muziek in zijn (stomme) films, zal ook in LEBENSRAUM de muziek de handelingen van de mannen becommentariëren en accentueren. Het is niet de bedoeling om de nostalgie en sfeer uit die tijd te evenaren, zoals de pianist die live de film begeleidde. Alamo Race Track brengt met haar eigen klank en sfeer, door middel van soundscapes, liedjes en geluidseffecten een dialoog tot stand tussen de muziek en de spelers.
