Utah Valley used a strong defensive effort to win its fifth straight Great West Conference game, 64-42, over Texas-Pan American on Saturday night. The Wolverines (15-10, 7-1) limited the Broncs (4-22, 1-8) to just 13 made field goals in winning for the fifth time in their last six games and move to 9-2 in their last 11 contests. "I was very happy with our defense and we did a nice job of taking care of the basketball in a game where the spurts on either side were very limited," said Wolverine coach Dick Hunsaker. "You have to respect UTPA's effort and how hard they play."
