But it is a crutch that we no longer need. It is time for us to move past this primitive mindset and into a world based on reason and logic. In order to make this transition, we are going to need interpreters who can translate things into the simplest possible terms so that the masses can properly understand more advanced concepts. Markanday was least bothered about his life but for is mother he started praying to lord Shiv. Day and night Markanday did jaap of Mrutya sanjivani mantra and the day arrived when he turned five. But before Yamdut could come to take him, his prayers reached mata Parvati. Yamdut tried throwing the trap but because of lord Shiv Markanday was safe. Yamraj became angry when he came to know about this and decided to go himself and kill Markanday. Yamraj argued with Shiv-parvati on this but in vain. Mata parvati started seeing Ganesh and Kartikh in Markanday, by his prayers Markanday already got the long life vardaan and now he wanted vardaan to do kalyan of the people of universe. Parvati was also exited to give this vardaan to him. Markanday said that he wanted to create a granth on mata Parvati, she gave this vardaan to him.
