The house she was staying in shelled hour after she reports kids dieing..............WTF Marie Colvin, a Sunday Times journalist, and a French photographer have reportedly been killed in the besieged Syrian city of Homs after the house where they were staying was shelled. Colvin, an American reporter for the British newspaper, and photographer Remi Ochlik both died in the attack, opposition activists and witnesses said. Shells hit the house in which the two veteran war correspondents were staying, then they were killed by a rocket as they tried to make their escape, Reuters reported. Colvin, known for wearing a black eye patch after she lost an eye due to a shrapnel wound while working in Sri Lanka in 2001, was the only journalist from a British newspaper in Homs. At least two other Western journalists were wounded after more than 10 rockets hit the house, it is understood. Only yesterday, Colvin reported on shelling in the city in a video for the BBC, as well as CNN, in which she described the bloodshed as "absolutely sickening". "I watched a little baby die today," she said. "Absolutely horrific. "There is just shells, rockets and tank fire pouring into civilian areas of this city and it is just unrelenting." In a report published in the Sunday Times over the weekend, Colvin spoke of the citizens of Homs "waiting for a massacre". "The scale of human tragedy in the city is immense. I decided to record Handlebars by the Flobots for my A2 Music Tech recording coursework mainly because it has an awesome trumpet solo in the middle and I really wanted to play it! But it turned out the be a really good piece to show off the ability to record many different instruments (it ranges from rap vocals through rock guitar to jazz trumpet and a string quartet!) It was still a bit of a learning curve though, there are definitely some things I did at the start of the recording process that I would do differently now but I'm still pretty pleased with the whole thing! The point of this wasn't to re-create the original exactly but to do a recording that was obviously Handlebars but I was able to add my own spin to things All the guys playing on the track are friends of mine from my 6th form college and did it purely from the goodness of their hearts - So I have tried to put most of their names in the song its self (Sorry to Spam and Hannah P whose names didn't quite make it in to the lyrics) The Female Vocals, the Drums and the Guitar parts were played/sung by members of an awesome band called "Charley Macaulay" Check them out on facebook - www.facebook.com - as they are really rather awesome!
