Die "Adria-Magistrale" ist eine der schönsten Küstenstraßen der Welt. Das technische Meisterwerk entstand zu Zeiten des jugoslawischen Präsidenten Tito in den 50er und 60er Jahren des vorigen Jahrhunderts und erstreckt sich von Ankaran in Slowenien bis nach Ulcinj in Montenegro. Mehr als die Hälfte des kurvigen Asphaltbandes - 658 Kilometer - befindet sich in Kroatien und ein Viertel - 125 Kilometer - in Montenegro. Kürzere Abschnitte führen durch Slowenien, und nur auf neun Kilometern verläuft die Straße durch Bosnien-Herzegowina. Für alle vier Länder des ehemaligen jugoslawischen Verbundes ist die Magistrale mit ihrer Gesamtlänge von 1.200 Kilometern nach wie vor die Hauptschlagader des Adriatourismus. Für viele Reisende ist diese Straße die Traumstraße schlechthin. In schwindelerregender Höhe schmiegt sie sich eng an die steil zur Adria abfallenden Felsen, windet sich um Meeresarme und Buchten, durch Gärten und über Geröllfelder. Dabei gewährt sie wundervolle Ausblicke auf das blaue Meer, auf grüne Inseln, bizarre Felsen sowie mediterrane Städte und Dörfer. Doch die Traumstraße birgt auf ihrer kurvenreichen Strecke auch Gefahren. So berichten Anwohner, dass schon mal ein Lkw von der Straße abkommt und in ihren Garten fällt. Tanti gli eventi collaterali alla Notte bianca 2011. Nel passaggio medievale, intitolato da pochi giorni a Gian Battista Giacomelli, è stata infatti inaugurata la mostra di Lino Gialain, maestro e artista del ferro battuto conosciuto a livello internazionale. È stato qui che il sindaco Massimo Barbujani ha annunciato la notizia che ventilava da qualche tempo in città: Gialain infatti donerà alla Città di Adria una scultura equestre a dimensioni reali che il primo cittadino ha deciso di posizionare in piazzale Alberto Mario. Ma non è finita qui, perché lo scultore ha proposto al sindaco adriese di accettare un secondo dono: una targa da posizionare sopra l'entrata del vicolo medievale. L'incisione su ferro servirà per segnalare il Comune di Adria. La mostra, invece, rimarrà in città fino a fine anno. Durante la serata, mentre passava il lunghissimo drappo tricolore sorretto da cittadini e appartenenti ad associazioni di Adria, dal balcone di Palazzo Tassoni è stato dato inizio alla Notte bianca con i rappresentanti istituzionali. E così, dopo un brindisi inaugurale e il taglio della torta il sindaco di Adria ha dato il via ai festeggiamenti.
