Coil's "Horse Rotorvator" album was always a big musical and lyrical influence for Adam L. and Acid Ice Flows. This is a song that Acid Ice Flows did years ago, as homage to Johnn Balance's passing. Now with Peter Sleazy Christopherson's recent death Coil's current incarnation has ceased to exist. It was decided to pay homage again, this time in visual form. Peter was not only a brilliant musician, but he also enjoyed using video as an art form, so hopefully this does justice to him, even if only slightly as it's difficult for anyone to measure up to legends. Adam L.'s interpretation has always seen the original song from a very violent perspective. The original sounds extremely vicious, as if the hatred is barely contained, and the accompanying instruments bray in a harsh manner throughout the piece, goading the listener and hurling musical insults in their face. As a result, Acid Ice Flows covered and re-purposed the song musically and now visually in the most disgusting and vile manner possible.. + Informações

Bob Barker Confiscates Gill Net, Engages Whalers In the Southern Ocean today, at approximately 1200 (AEST), the Sea Shepherd vessel M/Y Bob Barker encountered the Yushin Maru 3, an illegal Japanese whale killing ship. The Yushin Maru 3 is the same vessel that intentionally rammed into the Bob Barker 19 days ago as the Sea Shepherd ship found the Japanese fleet for the second time and reinitiated the blockade of the Nisshan Maru?which functions as Japans illegal water-borne whale slaughterhouse. For nearly three weeks now, Sea Shepherd has halted the Japanese whale slaughter, which Japanese politicians and publicists claim is for research purposes despite the fact that the data collected is of no value to any independent scientific body. This is the first time in many days that Sea Shepherd activists have seen any ship in the illegal fleet other than the Nisshin Maru?and they were quick to take action. As the Bob Barker gave chase, they deployed a small inflatable boat which caught up with the Yushin Maru 3 and despite the whale killers use of water cannons and maneuvers through ice flows to try to discourage the five brave activists in the small boat, many stink bombs (made with rotten butter) successfully landed on the decks of the Yushin Maru 3. STORY: Despite thick ice, Canada is holding its annual seal hunt. Tuesday marked the 5th day of the seal hunt. The government promises the hunt will be more humane this year. Hunters are allowed to kill up to two hundred seventy-five thousand young harp seals on the ice floes of Eastern Canada. On Friday a spokesman for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans said sealing boats were finding it difficult to get to the herds because of thick ice. Anti-sealing groups complained they had not yet been allowed to observe the killing. The new killing procedures are designed to ensure a quick death but activists doubt they will be more humane. After a hunter shoots or clubs a seal, he now must check its eyes to ensure it is dead. If not, the animal's main arteries must be cut. The hunt always prompts a debate between those who say it is cruel and unsustainable and those who say it is a legitimate harvesting of a small portion of the five point five million-strong seal herd. The furs from the seals are made into coats and other clothes. There is also a growing market for seal oil which is high in omega-3 fatty acid. Bad weather prevented helicopters from checking on the hunt, however better weather over the weekend now allowed helicopters to cover the hunt for the observers.. + Informações

We show how to make hydrochloric acid from sodium bisulfate and table salt. The synthesis is rather simple, we generate hydrogen chloride gas by mixing together 140g of sodium bisulfate and 60g of sodium chloride salt and then heating. 20mL of water can be added to lower the temperature required but this is optional. Hydrogen chloride gas will be produced. This gas is lead into distilled water to produce hydrochloric acid. Be careful though, hydrogen chloride is so soluble that the water will pull itself into the tube trying to absorb it. In the video i use an elaborate back-flow prevention system to prevent loss of the product. Sodium bisulfate is available as a pH lowering chemical. 30mL of sulfuric acid may be used as a replacement if you have it. Shot at the Red House Studios Walnut Creek CA. on 11/12/10 ASG (Al Smith Group) put on a great show and were on fire that evening! Al Smith's exceptional vocals and smoking hot guitar licks were so hot his fret board caught fire figuratively speaking of course! Edward Platt's insane thumping/stinging bass lines added to the tight rhythm section with Ed Maui Jamieson's on-time and over-the top percussion which kept everybody wondering if they were getting hit over the head with two pounding hammers and then woken up! No smoke and mirrors needed here, this is my "Bastardized" version of that live performance. I dumped the footage down in post and did a primary and secondary color correction, made the footage look like Super 16mm film stock then distressed and destroyed the hell out of it, added grain, scratches and mold. It's also light leaked, vignetted, acid washed, frame jittered and over exposed to name a few. What you see is what you get! I had the pleasure shooting this smokin' hot band that plays not only great covers but also kick-ass original ballads as well. I did a single camera shoot with my trusty HD 3 CCD camera, sort of a Cinéma Vérité style, run and gun technique where you go with the flow and shoot the action. We show 3 ways to make nitric acid based on two different chemical approaches both of which can be done using easily accessible materials. Warning: The procedures in this video produce large quantities of toxic gases and deal with highly corrosive acids. All work must be performed in a fume hood with proper safety equipment. And all apparatus must be glass to withstand the acids. Chemically, nitric acid is made by bubbling nitrogen dioxide into water. So the objective in this approach is to generate nitrogen dioxide. This can be done by reacting hydrochloric acid, a nitrate salt and copper. Around 80grams of sodium nitrate, over 30 grams of copper and 100mL of hydrochloric acid (37% 12M) are the quantities needed. The exact amount isn't critical. For usable concentrations, the amount of water being converted should be small, around 20-50mL. Any source of nitrate is usable including potassium nitrate, ammonium nitrate and even nitrate-based fertilizers. You can use our previous video on testing for nitrates if you want to determine if yours can be used. www.youtube.com The tricky part now is leading the gas into water. Two approaches are shown in the video. In the first approach three containers, such as jars are place inside each other to force the gas to go into the water. This is very inefficient but is very simple to do. The better approach is to lead the gas out of the generator through a tube and into a chilled container of water.
