Underrated Metal Vol. 3: Absurd Existence- Black Sun 6.53 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 1066 exibições Absurd Existence were an overlooked Melodic Death Metal band that formed in 1992 in Germany. They play Melo Death with hints of Doom, they released one full length in 1994 after releasing a demo. The music is mostly mid-paced and it doesn't get much more melodic than this. There album isn't perfect but they had shown some serious potential.. + Informações |

The Absurdity of Denying the First Premise of the Kalam Cosmological Argument (William Lane Craig) 5.10 min. | 3.0 avaliação | 68 exibições As odd as it may be there are some skeptics who deny that whatever begins to exist has a cause, which only forces them to think that something can come from literally nothing. This is absurd because this destroys the causal principle (and science too), and they wouldn't be able to deny that something can all of a sudden pop into existence uncaused out of nothing. In this video, William Lane Craig sets atheist Peter Slezak straight on the first premise of the Kalam Cosmological Argument.. + Informações |

Johnny Depp Reminisces About the Absurd 70s For Dark Shadows 2.00 min. | 4.733333 avaliação | 980 exibições Johnny Depp reminisces about the "absurd" '70s for Dark Shadows. Hi there, I'm Lauren Bradshaw, and we have your look at what Johnny has to say about the decade and the nice things his leading ladies have to say about him. It's in today's PopSugar Rush. CHLOE GRACE MORETZ: Are you stoned or something? JOHNNY DEPP: They tried stoning me, my dear, it did not work. In the upcoming movie Dark Shadows, Johnny Depp plays a vampire who's transported to the 70s, but when it comes to Johnny himself, it sounds like he'd rather not relive the decade, calling it . . . JOHNNY DEPP: "the worst time aesthetically in human existence" [laughs] JOHNNY DEPP: "Kids, people of that era accepted troll dolls, and macrame, and lava lamps, and pet rocks . . ." Johnny was just nine years old in 1972, the year the movie takes place. But while he's speaking out about his dislike for the era, his Dark Shadows leading ladies can't stop talking about how much they love working with him. CHLOE GRACE MORETZ: He is one of the coolest and most humble guys I've ever met . . . MICHELLE PFEIFFER: He's just one of the most gifted actors working today . . . EVA GREEN: He has the most intense eyes, he doesn't move, and then it's just like ? thunder. Dark Shadows is actually based on a late '60s, early '70s TV series, which Johnny says was one of his favorites, though this new remake does have its differences. JOHNNY DEPP: It's sort of taking what they did on the series and heightening the universe, that world .... + Informações |

give me beauty, give me death 2.03 min. | 4.125 avaliação | 975 exibições give me beauty, give me death, 2009, andrea hajtajer, video installation, 2 channels, music: eldbjørg raknes The two-channel video sets side by side the ominous image of an ambulance approaching the viewer in slow-motion in a com¬monplace and deserted urban setting and the image of the artist performing a circular dance with a meditative expression in a middle of a barren field. She is constantly accompanied by a troubling vocal music suggesting the sound of the ambulance buzzer. The synchronization in negative of the two actions in relation with the viewer highlights the presentiment of fatality and increases tension in the expectancy of the spectator waiting for something to occur. The contrasting relation between the above-described scraps of narratives expresses existential anguish of being trapped in a life with no future, an inescapable and perpetual "in-between". The dance can be understood either as a sublime and absolute affirmation of life in front of imminent personal death and loss, be it symbolic or real, or as expression of disinterested beauty, meant to counter a meaningless and absurd existence.

Re: To the Realists. 4.70 min. | 4.6458335 avaliação | 2284 exibições Hello, Jeff. My name is Jonathan. It's good to meet you. If truly existence was absurd, then by what method do your propose to attempt to persuade anyone of such a claim? If there is no meaning, then by what means do you expect to convey your argument? Clearly by no absolute could you do this, no sense of syntax or reason--such could only exist in a meaningful universe. What presupposition must be acknowledged beforehand so that the attempt is not foolhardy? And since we are on the subject, whence is the passion to persuade for a man of no meaning? No, my dear absurdist, your very attempt to convince me of life's absurdity is to concede that there is objective meaning, and that both you and I can be aware of it. Absurdism finds its meaning in denying meaning. Oh, the perils accounted by Nietzche are dutifully acknowledged. The man rightfully saw that, all too often, wise men create meaning out of their own desires, and then search for evidence of such claims after they had already affirmed, with full conviction, the "truthfulness" of their illusion, whereby they enshrine their view within the deepest catacombs of their own subliminal rhetoric. Such insight is not to be slighted! "Proof" via the affirmation of the consequent is truly the life-stream of any ideologue, and indeed, any idiot. So I ask, how is reason possible if not by an absolute?. + Informações |

Can We Really Imagine Sisyphus Happy? 4.70 min. | 5.0 avaliação | 333 exibições Camus states that, "The struggle itself...is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy." Perhaps no thinker has plumbed the depths of the absurd more than Albert Camus so when he makes such a statement, it behooves us to contemplate what he is trying to convey to us. While many would find the absurdity of existence to be so unbearable as to drive them to suicide, Camus comes to the very opposite conclusion. " One must imagine Sisyphus happy." he says. I've struggled with this idea for a long time. How can one imagine Sisyphus happy in such an absurd situation? But then is our situation any less absurd? Perhaps our existence is even more absurd? But how can that be? If our existence is more absurd than that of Sisyphus, perhaps we can imagine him happy. Sisyphus certainly knew nothing of Baudrillard or Derrida. That's a start. No disrespect to Baudrillard or Derrida but their thought is certainly not conducive to a feeling of existential security if that is even possible. So how can the situation Sisyphus finds himself in be any less absurd than ours? Well there was no division of labor for Sisyphus. The project of rolling the boulder up the hill was his. He could put his very being into the task. So there was no fragmentation, no alienation and no mediation. He was doing the task. He felt the rock, tasted the sweat as it dripped into his mouth. If we think of happiness in the negative, as an absence of pain, I can now say I've come to understand how we .... + Informações |

Does God exist? 4.17 min. | 3.5714285 avaliação | 626 exibições hello, what if i say to you, that yesterday my car fell in love with my bed and gave birth to a unicorn. you won't even think that it can be true.... well, if you believe in an omnipotent God, you will actually have to believe it. because a God that can do everything, he can do even the impossible. That's why it's wrong to never question your faith. so let's just stop and think. Let's ask questions to discover. don't be afraid of questioning your faith. you will be more knowledgeable by asking questions, do experiments and reason....... Humans are best at thinking, so start thinking not just believing. let's start with God, or rather, Gods. There was thousands of Gods that societies believed in, but you deny them all. Christians think that they are right, and deny all of other Gods, Muslims think they are right, Hindus think they are right, Buddhists think they are right. well we know that they can't be all right, so let's think for a moment, and consider on what basis we deny the other Gods, and in what basis, reasons do we believe in our God? Let's start by asking "How do we know the things that we know?" well it's evidence. And there isn't any evidence for any God's existence. You only need Faith. And what is faith? Faith is believing something without any evidence. Without questioning it. Without using logic and reasoning. Without even trying to think that you might be wrong. How absurd is that? If you want to find the truth, you cannot use Faith and you know it. You .... + Informações |

The Nature of Existence 4.65 min. | 4.2916665 avaliação | 2670 exibições The Nature of Existence: When logic is used, there can be only 3 possibilities for the true nature of existence: 1. Existence has always existed. 2. Existence has a beginning. or 3. Both. I'll explain how these 2 seemingly contradictory possibilities agree with each other and common scientific knowledge, but first, allow me to explain the first 2 possibilities in depth. Possibility 1: Existence has always existed. Think of all that exists, as a bubble of existence. Outside this bubble is nonexistence. If existence has always existed, then there would be an infinite regression within the bubble of existence. There is a name for this problem: The Infinite Regress Problem. It simply shows the problem that comes with negative infinity, which is infinite time in the past. With infinite time in the past, each cause would be an effect of a previous cause, and there could be no origin of everything. There could be no beginning. So the problem comes with the idea that the present could never occur if there is always something in the past. If there is an infinity of time in the past, then it logically follows that you could not ever reach the present. Possibility 2: Existence has a beginning. Let's refer back to the bubble of existence again. In this scenario, the bubble of existence must have spontaneously come into existence instantaneously. This is because there is no time or causation outside the bubble. Nonexistence is outside the bubble of existence, so this is where the term .... + Informações |

EXAMINING THE RELIGION OF "NO GOD" ATHEISM #2: BELIEF IN COMPLETE MATERIALISM IS ABSURD 58.40 min. | 0 avaliação | 670 exibições Deluded atheists love to hate this video series! They'll give it a bad rating without even watching it in many cases! They hate the fact that anyone would say that atheism is a religious delusion or even a religion when atheism is in fact a "faith based proposition that God does not exist" as far as each individual atheist is concerned. Thus their "faith based proposition" is just as religious as any theist with a proposition that God does indeed exist. Atheists follow patterns of "faith beliefs" such as "they are without a belief in God" & a philosophy of religion that purposely postulates the existence/nonexistence of God which therefore squarely places them in the religion category (whether they like it or not, which they don't). Larry Wessels, Director of Christian Answers of Austin, Texas/ Christian Debater (YouTube channel: CANSWERSTV, websites: BIBLEQUERY.ORG, HISTORYCART.COM, & MUSLIMHOPE.COM; videos: see hundreds of videos by Larry Wessels on YOUTUBE or VIMEO VIDEO is joined in studio by the director of Peaceway Productions for an analysis of the Religion of Atheism. "Webster's New World Dictionary" defines Atheism as "the belief that there is no God, or denial that God or gods exist." "The Philosophy of Religion," page 4 states, Atheism is "the belief that there is no God of any kind." In some cases Atheism has been defined as a self induced psychological mental condition usually acquired not at birth but later in life as a placea for dealing with reality .... + Informações |
