These are pictures of houses and buildings that are in hopeless conditions for different reasons. Some of them are in that condition due to a natural disaster, while others because of abandonment. Not all of these places are abandon. If you look very closely you will see that some of them are still being used as homes. In that sense, the homes are not abandon, but sadly the people are.. + Informações

As stated in the video, PLEASE USE HEADPHONES! This is a stereo piece that uses panning and shifting noise in between both ears! Now then. This is a sound piece that I composed for my Digital Arts 460 class, Digital Sound Applications. This is the second piece that I was assigned and my parameters were: create a sound piece that uses more than one track around 3 minutes. (Kind of open ended wouldn't you say?) I decided to compose a piece based on "Dante's Inferno" and his journey through hell. I don't know why the concept is so appealing to me, as I have already used this idea in a shortfilm for a different class (which cannot be put on YouTube for length and space reasons!) This piece represents Dante's journey through the Inferno only and not Purgatorio or Paradiso. I chronicled his travels as he is guided by Virgil (represented by the chimes) through the nine circles of hell. The opening segments are the upper circle-(the ocean and insects) and crossing the river Styx in Charon's boat (you can hear him ask for money...). The secondary portion is all nine circles of hell meshed into one (as I was running out of time...) This piece was such a big hit in class, I decided to put it on YouTube. If I get enough positive feedback here as well as in my class, I will come back to this on my own free time and create a multi-piece work for each circle of hell in addition to Purgatorio and Paradiso! May 22, 2010 - Trying to Understand Lily We spent the night and day trying to understand Lily and looking for Hope. At first, we watched the computer screen in disbelief as Lily moved a couple miles away. What was in her mind? She had come down from the big red pine where Hope was sleeping in the uppermost branches. She carefully sniffed deep bear tracks one after another. What information did she get from them? She mostly ignored the observer, as usual. Then, she calmly walked away as we have seen many times before. With Hope asleep, Lily often forages in the area, alert for any cry from the waking cub, which would bring her immediate return. The observer left but was mildly surprised by how faint the telemetry signal had become. Back at the Research Center, the computer showed she had eventually put her travel in high gear and was nearly 2 miles away. We watched the screen for her next move. She turned south instead of coming back east. About 11:30 PM, Lily settled down a couple miles from the red pine. We wondered if Hope had miraculously awakened and tracked down her mother. A check around midnight showed that Hope was no longer in the tree, but rustling nearby suggested she was still in the vicinity. About 6 AM, Lily stirred. Surely she would quickly return now with her breasts full of milk. It had been over 12 hours since she had nursed Hope. She turned south and spent the day traveling and foraging up to 4 miles away from the red pine where she had left Hope. We .... + Informações
