Dog day afternoon, the retelling of the real life attempted bank robbery in New York by Sonny Wortzik and his partner Sal remains culturally significant because of the character that was Sonny Wortzik and what he stood for, a desperate man in uneasy times. Pacino's performance is so brilliant and captivating that you could pick any amount of time and it would be memorable . I decided to stick with this scene as it involves sonny getting the crowd on his side and effectively manipulating the forces. The use of the word attica is important as this revolves around the police mess up that occured their and even though you cant condone sonny's actions, he becomes something of a legendary anti-hero. Pacino makes the character as desperate and intense as possible and whats also easy to see is the exact tension that takes place. We were driving past the pitch on our way to the hotel, when Beckham noticed the game in progress and had the vehicles circle back. We parked on the side of the road and walked down a dirt path to the pitch. The players were completely caught off guard. what began with a polite hand-shake quickly turned into a frenzy as they realized one of the game's most recognizable stars was standing among them. It wasn't enough just to shake his hand. They had to rub his head, touch his tattoosÃ? As for the game itself, Beckham took it easy. At one point, he took off his UNICEF t-shirt and gave it to one of the locals. This particular day was hot and dusty, but everybody was having a great time. Even though many areas in Freetown lack electricity, there was no shortage of mobile phones. So by the time the game ended, word had spread that Beckham was in town ñ shirtless no less. A four-day journey into the rainforest of El Oriente, Upper Amazon Basin, Ecuador, 2003-4. We took a bus from Quito to the tiny town and jungle outpost of Tena, where we hired a taxi and went further east to a point along Rio Napo called Puerto Barantilla, where we took a boat to our jungle lodge near the mouth of Rio Arajuno. Over the next three days, we explored the region with local guides, including a memorable all-day hike through primordial forest, buzzing with streams and massive diversity of life. We also went river rafting one day after assembling a raft out of logs with our guide's help, and hiked to amaZOOnico, an animal rescue and rehabilitation center run by local and overseas volunteers. Here we saw some of the great variety of Amazonian wildlife, including macaws, toucans, trumpet birds, tortoise, many kinds of monkeys, jaguars, ocelots, peccaries, tapirs, capybaras, agoutis, etc. The lodge served all of our meals. Dinner staple was fish with vegetables, rice, yucca or plantain, and tropical fruit, served by candlelight (the lodge had no electricity). The mosquitoes were large and vicious.
