From all the rejected cues Elfman wrote for the film, this is the one I would really ask Sam Raimi "Why ?". While I can consider that he disliked Elfman's moderate approach for Otto Octavius catastrophic experiments, while maybe late reediting of several sequences made some cues problematic, I just can't understand why he refused the first minute of "Spider-Fall/Rebuilding". As Spider-Man flies through the buildings, Elfman's offers a beautiful, powerful yet touching presentation of Spider-Man's theme making Parker's doubts and loneliness ours. In the final cut, Raimi and his team replaced this wonderful interpretation of Parker's uncertain feelings by a dreadful mix of three cues from the first movie; Main Titles -- Parade Attack -- Revenge. The result is clumsy and doesn't deliver half of Elfman's initial ideas. After Spider-Man's fall, the final cut reintegrates the original music until Doc Ock appears to the screen. The shift here is more subtle: Raimi reused Elfman's music from a previous scene (Angry Arms) which is a statement of Doc Ock's main theme only with a firmer orchestration. You can hear that Elfman went for a more subtle and discreet statement, mainly with clarinets, giving the scene a logical "wheels in motion" taste. More to come.... + Informações

I was very nervous on the morning I had to do a presentation on my ice core research at Swansea Uni. Before I gave it I thought about Isabel Tompsett in hospital, as I have been asked to help promote the South Wales Point to Point Awards and Dinner Dance at the Holiday Inn Newport on July 9th in aid of Issie. It put things into perspective for me and I was not worried any more. The South Wales Racing Community is very close knit and from the eastern valleys to the west coast they can boast some of the best trainers in the country like Peter Bowen, Evan Williams, Tim Vaughan, Dai Burchell, Bernard Llewellyn and many many more. Isabel is known to all of them; and they will come together to help her in her hour of need. She will have ridden on the beach across the bay and in the gallops of the welsh valleys and along the coast for most of the Welsh trainers and as a trained vet her advice has been invaluable to most of them. Join us as we pay homage to Isabel's courage , dedication and achievements as Champion Lady Amateur jockey and try to raise money for her to aid her during the long process of recovery, by supporting the event. £40 a ticket and proceeds to Isabel. A British boy died on a school trip in the Austrian Alps after plunging down a crevasse as he tried to save a friend from falling. Hayden Waller, 12, a pupil at The Howard School, in Gillingham, Kent, set off with three other boys on a dangerous trek up a mountain during their afternoon "freetime" at the resort of Mallnitz. Police said that in an "adventurous spirit", they strayed from a path and Hayden, who was on his first ever skiing trip and was wearing only trainers, broke his neck after falling 30ft backwards down a ravine. Officers said he had probably saved the life of Stafford Bain 14, by catching his fall. An officer said: "His friend was standing above him when he fell and Hayden tried to catch him but both then slipped backwards. The boy that fell slid on his belly and landed in a tree after ten feet, but Hayden fell backwards for more than 30 feet, bouncing from rock to rock as he fell down the almost vertical drop." When teachers were alerted at a nearby hotel, two of them put their own lives at risk by trekking through the woods and climbing down to find the boy. They attempted to resuscitate him until help arrived. DREADFUL FATE A Short Documentary Film SYNOPSIS Dreadful Fate is the story of a land, Nalgonda district in AP, India, where excess fluoride in ground water has turned the fate of thousands of inhabitants. Dreadful Fate is an insight into the hideous lives of people who fall prey to the most basic need for survival-water. In the normal scenario water is essential for existence, Drink or Die is very true as water is inevitable for human survival BUT in Nalgonda district, Drink and Die seems to fit in aptly, as the ground water turns to a poison causing a dreadful disease called fluorosis. This life threatening, crippling disease has created a wave of impediment and irk among the innocent victims and their beloved ones. The emotions of the victims are heart touching and pain is the only yardstick to evaluate their agony. They suffer physically, mentally and socially. This documentary film also reveals the distinct relation between poverty and fluorosis. DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT When I first read news articles in April 2009 about the plight of fluoride victims in villages of Nalgonda district, AP, India, it was very disquieting. Khooni Mahal-The Deadly Manor Hindi Movie Synopsis: The films starts with a wealthy Jagirdar of a turf Jagira who is taken over by a mysterious evil spirit on one stormy no moon night and soon turns to a monster with long fangs, unkempt hair and shaggy nails. He instantly kills two of his lady servants and forgets everything in the morning. The deaths remain a mystery. A month later, on a same no moon stormy night, Jagira transforms again to a monster and this time goes to the village, kills a village belle and is soon subdued by the angry mob. The angry villagers drive him off and make him fall into a newly dug pit which is then filled up again. The evil spirit warns the villagers of the dire consequences and is all set to exact revenge on anyone who passes by the turf. The story cuts to 20 years after the preceding events, where we see a couple (Satish Kaul and Anu Dhawan) caught amidst rain taking asylum at Jagira's haunted palace. Jagira emerges from his grave and kills the couple.
