Between The Sheets - Episode 1 (Bedroom Farce 2012) 6.05 min. | 0 avaliação | 817 exibições Here's the first episode of our weekly catch-up chat show with the cast of Bedroom Farce. Playing at the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich from 19th April 2012. Mining the same rich comic vein as A Chorus Of Disapproval and Noises Off, Ayckbourn's classic farce shows how four couples into three bedrooms simply won't go. Trevor and Susannah are having marital problems - again. Rowing, making up, sulking, shouting, flirting, fighting - and always in other people's bedrooms. Their friends, their parents, their ex'es, and their in-laws all have their cosy bedrooms and their comfortable relationships thrown into turmoil by this tempestuous relationship. During one chaotic night we see the action unfold in three separate bedrooms, as Trevor and Susannah wreak havoc on the sleep, security and soft furnishings of all those around them. And of course, the only ones who end up in harmony and in bed are - Trevor and Susannah. Ingenious, inventive and incredibly funny. "He [Ayckbourn] has an acute observation of people and their multiple vulnerable points, an uncanny ear for the subtleties of conversation. Yet even when he is showing us foolishness, he is humorously aware of the inadequacies of man and woman, and above all else his characters are warm and lovable human beings." Yorkshire Post on the 1975 World Premiere Cast Ernest - Christopher Ettridge Delia - Susan Bovell Nick - Barnaby Power Jan - Chloe Howman Malcolm - Richard Elis Kate - Leanne Jones Trevor - Tom Turner Susannah .... + Informações |

GOP Turning On McCain For "Stupid & Pathetic" Campaign 2.67 min. | 4.864286 avaliação | 17013 exibições www.huffingtonpost.com The state of the McCain campaign is drawing fire from its own ostensible allies. At the head of the line of Republicans looking to be the first to flick dirt on McCain's grave is Bill Kristol, who says in today's New York Times, that if "the race continues over the next three weeks to be a conventional one, McCain is doomed." Since that's coming from a guy who, through his own bad advice, has contributed mightily to the grave McCain is measuring, it makes sense that he be given the first shovel of dirt. But didn't Kristol get the message? Today, the key line of John McCain's rebooted stump speech is directed at his rival, Barack Obama, and it goes a little something like, "We have him right where we want him." That was the plan, all along, you see! Be down double digits in the polls, possessed of the necessity of campaigning in West Virginia, and in need of tempering your supporters' passions because they have suddenly veered wildly in the direction of psychosis. I love it when a plan comes together, even if that plan is only indicative of the fact that McCain's moved to the "denial" stage of grief. Brace yourself, because anger and depression are still to come! Amid this turmoil, McCain's attempts to relaunch his campaign have encountered a new obstacle: his fellow Republicans, who, like Kristol, are prepping themselves for an old-fashioned circular firing squad. Over the weekend, the New York Times noted that party leaders "were worried Mr. McCain .... + Informações |

London Riots, Gangs Starkey and BBC's Super Babe Emily Maitlis 10.60 min. | 3.2857144 avaliação | 2095 exibições www.facebook.com As the aftershocks from last week's violent disorder ripple across Britain, a febrile mood hangs over the nation. The air is filled with tension and anxiety. Explosive controversies are now flaring up over a host of issues, from zero-tolerance policing to public expenditure cuts. Now, the historian Dr David Starkey has sparked a conflagration of his own. During a debate about the disturbances on BBC2's Newsnight, Dr Starkey argued that one of the central problems was the influence of a 'violent, destructive and nihilistic' black culture that had corrupted too many of Britain's youngsters. Warming to his theme, he said: 'A substantial section of the chavs have become black. The whites have become black. Black and white, boy and girl, operate in this language together . . . which is wholly false, which is a Jamaican patois that's been intruded in England, and this is why so many of us have this sense of literally a foreign country.' He then further stoked the flames by adding that Enoch Powell was right in warning, more than 40 years ago, that immigration would ultimately cause conflict across our cities. Dr Starkey's outburst not only outraged his fellow panellists in the BBC studio, but also many commentators who watched the show, even though over the weekend he insisted that he 'was not talking about skin colour but gang culture'. Piers Morgan called him a 'racist idiot' and pronounced Starkey's television career to be over. Robert Peston, the BBC's .... + Informações |

HK Chief Executive elected--ATV News Report on 25-03-2012 6.23 min. | 0 avaliação | 1072 exibições On 25 March 2012 an election was held to select the Chief Executive of Hong Kong by a 1200-member Election Committee (EC), the winner of the election was Leung Chun-ying (CY Leung). The incumbent Chief Executive Donald Tsang was barred from seeking a third term pursuant to the Basic Law of Hong Kong. The fourth Chief Executive term will begin on 1 July 2012. The worst possible start for CY Leung By Chris Yeung 012-03-26 Source: www.hkej.com Against the background of dismal popularity of the Donald Tsang Yam-kuen administration and lingering worries about Hong Kong's long-term competitiveness, Leung Chun-ying has flown the banner of change as he fought his successful battle for the post of chief executive. He cautioned that failure to find solutions to a host of deep-seated conflicts such as widening income gap and a shortage of affordable housing could cause more social disharmony. A lack of proactive government approach in boosting the economic vitality of the city, Leung feared, would hamper competitiveness in the long run. Pledging to lead with "One heart, one vision", he succeeded in winning the vote, albeit with an unimpressive margin, among a panel of elites at the chief executive election on Sunday. The irony of his victory over Henry Tang Ying-yen, however, is that there are deepening fears that the Leung Chun-ying era will herald unwelcome changes in the socio-political and business environment of the city. Put plainly, many people are worried that Hong Kong will .... + Informações |
