Jellyfish were the perfect power pop band...beautiful melodies and huge hooks! They only released two albums before breaking up and this song, "Glutton Of Sympathy" is from their 2nd album 1993's Spilt Milk. This is my favorite song from another album filled with great songs. The video ended up containing Sunset Blvd. theme...not sure why, but it did. I realize that the song doesn't exactly describe the character in the film, but the song makes me think of fading (hollywood) stars, and Norma Desmond is the most faded of them all. This video happened pretty fast....just single video clip, a couple of After Effects comps, a few simple masks, and whole lot of long and multiple fade transitions...hope ya like it! Various occasion cards I made along with a box to put them in using different paper lines These cards measure 5 1/2" by 4 1/4". To make the box I took two sheets of 12 x 12 paper. Cut each sheet a 9 1/2" by 11 1/2" scored at 2 1/2" on each side of the paper. Cut a slit just at the sides so that I created a flap and used red tacky tape to adhere it. "Mystic Shark" was shot in a hotel room in Mystic, CT, using a box of petrified teeth bought at the Mystic Seaport Museums gift shop. "Mystic Shark" tries to elicit sympathy through the awkward and sentimental anthropomorphism of this much-feared and almost mythically vicious creature. What is shown here might be a "behind the scenes" moment where the tough guy shark gets ready to do his job (maybe he works at the aquarium being a shark in a tank, but lives in a hotel down the road). He's a bit past his prime, but he is trying to live up to our expectations. In the end, he tries to look endearing, and implores us silently to just try to love him a little bit.. + Informações

One of my Facebook friends, Joe Dupont, was a high school student many years ago of my husband's first wife, Margaret, who was teaching math in Chatham, NJ, at the time. Margaret saw potential in him that nobody else had ever brought to his attention, and though she didn't realize it at the time, she made quite a difference in his life. Margaret died far too young, at age 41, of an unexpected cerebral hemorrhage while she, Bill and their children were camping one August in Myrtle Beach, SC The day before she died, she sketched a sandcastle, which Bill would use the following week in prepared remarks at her funeral. Joe learned about Margaret's death only 15 years later and was so saddened that he wanted to do something to honor her memory. So he sent a box of daffodil bulbs to Bill, which Bill planted on a hillside outside our kitchen door. In 2004, as Bill and I returned home from New Garden Friends Meeting, where our request to be married under its care had just that afternoon been approved, we discovered the daffodils had suddenly flung into full bloom. We took that as a blessing from Margaret upon our marriage. Though I've never met Joe, he's become a dear friend through these measures. Somewhere along the way, Joe suggested I ought to make a sympathy card based on Margaret's sandcastle sketch and Bill's message about how sandcastles relate to our mortal lives. "Bridge Of Sighs" was the title track from Robin Trower's second solo album released, after he left Procol Harum, in 1974. The album was produced by Procol Harum's organist Matthew Fisher and was engineered by acclaimed Beatles soundman Geoff Emerick. This is an album filled with incredible songs, including the eerie, windblown soundscape of the title track, "Too Rolling Stoned", "Day Of The Eagle", "Little Bit Of Sympathy", "The Fool And Me", "In This Place", and others.....all featuring Robin's exquisite and original guitar....whether propelling the song forward or winding lazily through it, this album is a masterpiece of guitar rock. And Robin Trower remains one of the premier players in the genre, critically acclaimed for his work, yet still somehow strangely underrated and under-recognized for his work from the last several decades. This particular track was taken from 2007's box set, A Tale Untold, the remaster.........xxxxxxxxxxxx The video was based on what I had done with my previous Robin Trower video, "I Can't Wait Much Longer", mainly the mirrored cloud effect. I had actually intended to use only subtle shades of mostly grey and blue for this vid and had the video almost finished with this look, however although it was looking pretty cool and would have worked pretty nicely, after trying a couple of colors for contrast, I just caved in and went .... + Informações

Introducing.... " GORT " Optical Theremin Whats a Theremin...?? A Theremin is a musical instrument that is played without actually being touched ? A normal Theremin, is one that has one or two aerials, and your hand or hands, then play the instrument by moving them backwards and forwards towards the aerials(s). This has the effect of interfering with the radio waves of the Theremin, of which the Theremin operates, and therefore this creates audio effects from out of the Theremin. As a result, and with much practice, actual notes can be played. The Theremin was used extensively around the 40's and 50's to create the eerie Sci-fi sound effects, The effects can be heard extensively in films such as IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE.... and THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL..... the film of which my OPTICAL THEREMIN has been named "GORT"... as this was the Robot in the film The day the earth stood still . The GORT Optical Theremin, however , uses a " photocell " instead of aerials. A photocell is an electronic device that reacts to varying light levels. Therefore, with Gort Optical Theremin, as your hands interfere with the light that falls on it, the audio effects from the Theremin will change in sympathy. As demonstrated by my 2 Youtube Videos below. One Video is a Physical demonstration, and the other is an attempt at me actually playing it.
